I have one of the first molded cases and I need one that's newer.

The case I have is the old style with the black stripe that runs the length and the recessed back where the neck is. It's not a purple lined case, buts it's close to that vintage.

It's in great condition. The inside door is perfect and so is the piece that holds the door when open.

This one's designed for a knob on the upper bout by the neck. I've recently come to need a case to fit a guitar with an OP24 preamp.

If you have an older vintage O in a newer case, I'd love to trade you a tip top vintage case for that newer one.

It's in great shape with just a few minor scuffs on the outside. It looks like a 5 year old case, not a 35 year old one.

If you require pics, I can do that.

Damon, if all you need is the indent for the preamp knob, you can take a small ball peen hammer and dent the foam liner in the correct area and it will work. I have done it and it's not hard at all, works like a charm.

It's a bit more than that I'm afraid. The old case is a bit shorter...

Broccoli doesn't fit in it. Headstock is too long

Interesting, as my AD's fit fine in the older brown or the black.

Thanks Rich and everyone else. I wonder, did they make cases for artist bowls especially, or were they the same as deep bowl cases? This one is snug, though I don't really have any old Os to put in it right now.

My son has one that looks identical that his old Legend with a foil label goes in. He's supposed to be here next weekend, maybe I'll try to fit it in there and see if it is indeed a deep bowl case.

Here are some pics...

Damon,

Wow, I don't recall seeing any Ovation case with the 'ribbed feet'.

So much to learn and so little time...

First generation brown cases had the rib on the bottom. Deep and Artist use the same case
