I have a '68 Thunderhead with pitted hardware. Tailpiece, bridge, and original tuners.
Any wisdom here regarding replateing/restoring?

Thanks Jeff.

Problem is I have numerous pieces that are down to base metal from 40 years of living.
My fault... I should have been more clear in asking specifically about replating services.
Just wondering if any of the restorer's/collector's here have used a particular replating company or experience with any of the do-it-yourself equipment available.

Thanks.

I'd just leave it for that natural look.

I once brought a piece to a jeweler to have it sent out for plating. It was expensive and took too long, but the job was good. If I had a more local plating shop I think I'd take it there myself.

Thanks so much for the link 2ifbyC.
No need to re-write the bible for a newbie.

Won't argue with your point of view Beal. My wife tells me I'd be much easier to deal with if I wasn't so "anal".
