Up next is one I just received, and found it has too much bling for my liking. Angelic sound and well, as you can see, is stunning visually. Short scale makes it an easy player, with expression system and hard shell case, all in new condition with original hang tags. Only 250 made in various woods with the last run being made in Koa and Engleman, which this is. 2850.00 shipped conn US. If anyone wants more pictures, just email me.

Nope. Looks like a nice enough guitar but I would never own a Taylor. Just my personal preference.

Wake up Stephen, I'm talking about the tree, not the guitar. It's still for sale. Interested?

I don't know. Want to trade it for a Tak 45th, Tak EF75, a Froggy Bottom F12 and an Adamas 47RI?

I know all of those guitars combined don't equal a Taylor in value but it's the best I got that I can part with.....

I figure a 4-1 trade is equal value in the minds of most Taylor owners!

I would actually do the trade but TJ would have to stuff the Taylor with an additional $12,000.

So, I guess you are awake now. I'm not to the point of being like "most Taylor owners", and I'm too poor to stuff the Taylor with the ransom you suggest. They're all just guitars when it comes down to it. Depends what does "it" for you.

"it" is a nice dinner, some excellent wine, a few after dinner cordials and a wife who is in the mood ;)

Good luck with the Taylor sale. You know I was just razzing ya! :p

Oh yes indeed, you certainly did. Since that fateful day I've spent about $40k on guitars. I'll have to take a count and see exactly how many of those were Taylors. CLICK.

Whoa! What's this about jw and Taylors? I knew Dave played one nice one (of yours if memory serves, Ronnie) and he liked it ut has said consistently he wopuld never BUY one and I know jw is a Kaman/Lowden man. Is there a jw secret that hasn't been told (most have - just visit your local Post Office bulletin board, they're there). I don't believe it...

Well guys, I've played a few Taylors that were real dogs, but the one I picked up locally on Craigslist is a stellar player along with a few others. Every maker has some that aren't worth the shipping to get them to you, and some that are excellent examples of the luthier's art. Brand doesn't guarantee a great guitar, no matter who's making it.

I've yet to hear a Taylor that I thought was steller. Doesn't mean they aren't out there. The ones I thought were good were too much money for what you were getting.

Couple of days ago I heard another Taylor, plugged in. Sounded thin, with no guts. Maybe it was just the player, but I'm just not impressed by them.....

Guys.....we really shouldn't be doggin Taylors in the thread where TJ is trying to sell one.

The price he is asking is probably very fair for the quality of Taylor he is selling.

TJ...I am sorry if I am the one who threw this "For Sale" ad off track. My apologies!

TJ, I apologize. Stephen's right (boy, that hurt to say). Taylors are just another flavor of ice cream.

And, to be honest, the one you're selling is beautiful...

Paulie, you are welcome to play any of mine anytime...I think you would agree they are not the run of the mill Taylor's...And I never paid anywhere near retail for any of them...

I would love to have TJ's...getting my neck fixed is a priority that's more important...But I know it sounds great...

The biggest mistake I see Taylor owners make is not understanding how to set/use the expression system...done right it can be very nice...done wrong: well, its usually a disaster... ;)

Hey, no apologies necessary. I'm used to being the whipping boy around here. ;) Like the others, if it sells, great. If not, I've still got a guitar I like. Just a little too blingy for me. I should have known that going in, but I'm a sucker for a pretty guitar.

I never let the bling affect me one way or the other when acquiring a guitar. If they sound great it doesn't matter.

When ordering a guitar I have gone both ways. My Borges is an OM-18 style with some nice wood purfling but that's pretty much it.

On my Collings OM, I added a bit of bling with a beautiful multi-colored rose on the headstock. It blends in so well that most don't even realize it is there.

Interesting in that I just realized that on the last 2 guitars I have ordered (above) NEITHER of them have fret markers but BOTH are short scale.

For me, Harry Nilsson turned the robe into an iconic rock artist look. I'd personally go with that look but it sounds like your church is more formal. So probably suit.
