Location: Florida Central Gulf Coast | I just left a voice mail with the seller. I'll find out if he'll ship overseas. If not, and he'll ship stateside, I'll be glad to forward it on to the Emerald Isle. It would be be$t if someone local could pick and ship...
I'd like to get a more detailed description on the condition also. |

Location: Ireland | Hi Guys,
Many thanks for all your help. Different time zone, so sorry about the delay in replying. I have emailed the sellers but haven't received any reply yet. The offer to have it shipped to you locally in the states and then for me to organise shipping from you is very helpful. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the generosity - many thanks. I will reply when the seller contacts and in the mean time will look into shipping costs.
I hear what you say about the condition. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I did email asking about the condition of stress cracks around the bridge and also surface cracks. Interesting to see what he comes back with.
There was one other black PM on ebay which was much more expensive but looked in excellent condition - here's the link - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300358062610&ssP...
It looks really good condition. I did want the sunburst but this one looks in really excellent condition- what do you think? The shipping cost is going to be the clincher here i think.
Again many thanks for your help. |

Location: Ireland | All very helpful folks on this site. Thanks for your offer kotadawg. Really want to get a PM as mentioned had to sell one many years ago due to financial hard times and have regretted it ever since. Waiting to hear from the various sellers, will reply back when I do, and then maybe I can hear that sweet, full bodied orchestral sound that comes from a PM again. |

I'm looking at shipping options. They are all warning of the tax to be paid if shipping a personal item, which the guitar is!!! The tax rate here in Ireland is 21%. So need to do the math. Customs will hold the item until the tax is paid. Gets a little messy.
Really want this guitar!!
Lets see what the sellers come back with. |

Location: Ireland | Sorry 2ifbyC I've just seen the prices that you gave. Again thank you for the generosity of your time. Those rates look really reasonable. Thank you will factor them in when pricing the whole purchase. Am so happy I came across this site, it is so great to find such generosity from people that share the same passion for musical instruments as myself. |

Location: Ireland | Thanks James37214, I think that I am nearly there on getting my hands on a really nice sunburst. I need to organise logistics, which with the agressive TAX/Customs import arrangements in Ireland is proving a little tough but I'm hopeful that I can get it all sorted soon. Will keep you all posted and when its arranged the party is at my place!!! :) |

Location: Ireland | Wow, Gallerinski - some collection!!! Didn't see the sunburst - but so much to feast the eyes on. I'm close to a purchase of a beautiful PM from a member of this great forum/web site. Only issue is now trying to work out how to get it to Ireland with out being hit with the hurrendous value added tax that we have in my country - 21%!!! And the customs office are ruthless!!
bvince - so true, I am was actually (if its not too wimpy to say it) quite overwhelmed by the generosity of the folks on this web site. Had to say to my wife - just look at what these people who I've never met are preapred to do for me - restores your faith in the goodness and kindness of people.
Now to get that PM to Ireland!!! Does anyone know of someone travelling to Ireland for vacation over the next few weeks/months??? :) See how desperate I am to get my hands on this wonderful instrument. |

| So, to recap here -
lets say your guitar costs the dollar equivalent of 500 euros
this is your sum
Guitar 500
Shipping/Insurance 100
Total 600
imp duty 3% 18
Total 618
VAT @ 21% 130
Total 748
You'll notice there that you are trying to dodge 148 euros in payments to the revenue. But it's not you doing it - you're asking someone else to do it for you.
Here a week and trying to get someone else to smuggle for you.
Nice guy. |

Many of us, myself included, have held for, and even hand carried guitars to, our "brothers in Australia," but those brothers then hand carried the guitars into Oz themselves. I don't know of any case where any of the membership acted as a mule to smuggle contraband - which is what items that are undeclared to avoid legitimate import duties are legally called. |

If it's so cool to do why not ask al to understate the value of goods on the declaration? Good luck with that one. |

ouch... ooooww... cover my ears!
We, the members of the OFC, strive to be 100% compliant with the import, export, and taxation regulations of our respective countries. We do not advise on, sanction, or facilitate any individual's attempt to illegally import or export any item, and/or evade taxation on the import or export of any item. We understand that everyone always wants to save money (or make more money). We also understand how good it feels to get the best deal. We do not deny the temptation of sliding morals and ethics... we all have faced decisions between doing what is right and doing what is convenient (especially when the victim is faceless, or we convince ourselves that the victim somehow deserves the injustice, or that we deserve the treat more than they do). We also admit how hard it is to pass on capitalizing (when presented with these little gray-area decisions) because we know that if we don't do it, someone else will :(
It all boils down to being naughty or nice!
If you're not nice, SantaBobbo won't be coming down your chimney...
