Location: GA USA | ANNOUNCEMENT: Fall Southern Jam
October 17-19, 2008
Guys, we have a tremendous opportunity for some jammage.
First of all, The Artist currently known as Richard will be coming to Atlanta for 10 days in October, arriving Friday the 17th. Richard will be collecting his 08C and would love for YOU to have the opportunity to play it.
Then as though things could get any better, War Eagle has a cabin with 500 acres, pond, and horseback riding trails, located about 20 minutes North of Waynesville NC that he has most graciously offered for a jam.
Please consider this the official announcement, simulcast on two forums, in the spirit of the Olympics.
The plan as of now is to congregate at War Eagle's home Friday night and strike out from there into the wilderness, perhaps Saturday morning. Eagle says that anybody who wants to stay a few extra days and jam some more is welcome.

If you sleep in the truck - keep the windows open a tad just in case someone cracks open some baked beans... then again with this crew it might be safer if you keep the outside air outside. |

Should we start another thread as to which 'O's we should bring to the get-together, plus what we'd like to others to bring? Or maybe take it over to the 'other' AREA .
I'd love to caress a couple of Adamii, pick on a Josh and cradle a BW. Others attending will probably be more creative in their wishes.
If we start a list, I'll try to bring three that I may have on it. |

You will NOT leave disappointed, especially if Beal makes it with some original slotheads. If Mishka can make it, we may have three 08C's. WOW! |

Well, I am going to try to make it...but it will be without the '08C which has found a new home. Between the Adamas I twins (-7) and my '47 RI (not to mention the other 26 guitars I have) I've got more than enough to play...
I'll bring the '47 and maybe both pair of Twins (Adami -7's and Elite -6P's)...I also have a PA; GB Shen Stereo 60; plenty of mic's, etc, so we'll be jammin...
It all depends on scheduling...mine and the wife's... |

Hell, I've had to 'tolerate' ya'll most of my life anyways. Ya being a 'Joysey' curmudgeon would just make this ol' boy feel at 'home'. (Don't let that dissuade ya!) :D
I can hardly wait to meet some of you OFC 'classics'. I'm tired of missing out on the 'gatherings' and the 'T-shirt story'.
Seriously, ya'll have been a wonderful and endless source of info, gits and entertainment. But most of all, ya'll have been a 'family' that has aided me (albeit unknowingly) through some tough times within the past eighteen months!
There's not much I can contribute to the gathering other than I can hold a clinic on proper soldering techniques. LMK if that would fit into the abbreviated time frame. I would venture that anyone attending will learn something that they never were aware of.
cliff et al, please attend so that I can personally thank ya'll!

If they DON'T come - would any of you Jersey folk want to carpool? |

An Ovation sister and I are working on seeing if our work schedules will permit this to happen; I'll know about mine tomorrow. If your family doesn't come, and if your missus is o.k. with it, I'm sure Cheryl wouldn't mind carpooling. (But if we do end up driving ourselves, we're o.k. with that, too.)
Bluesy, thanks for the info; we'll keep that in mind.
Just thinking about attempting this is so outside the box for me; I hope it does happen!

That is also true and exciting for me! I could not have even considered such a venture two years ago. So I'm pullin' for all those that have the slimmest chance of attending.
Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the 'family' that can make it!!! |

We'll have at least a couple of good drummers there too. With Beal & Debanjo there, they'll pick up pretty much anything.
Here's a couple of my suggestions:
Grayson Capps - Poison, Uncle Ed Lee
Eagles - Tequila Sunrise with Debanjo on slide
Any 12-bar blues jamming, esp. with Cliff on vocals, could do a medley.
Traveling Wilburys always sounds good with multiple guitars. |
