My main stage guitar-6 string Takamine is becomeing ever so hard to play and I'm considering one of these 2771LX (Std Balladeers) http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ovation-2771LX-Ovation-S...

I'm looking for some feedback on these or maybe other options from the members.

I'm looking for a workhorse guitar that I'm not afraid to play out.I have a Blueridge that I love but its a little delicate for the college bars.

I play flatpick folky Cat Stevens stuff, Jimmy Buffett and also some Bruce Cockburn fingerstyle stuff,so I geuss what I'm saying is I need something versatile that plays well and sounds very full plugged in.

Whats the lowdown on the 2771 , or does anyone have any other ideas in the same price range?

I think you could throw a dart at the Ovation lineup and get what you want. However, after a long time relegating my C2079LX to standby status behind the 1869, I find that the Op-Pro Studio pre-amp gives it a lot of punch when properly set and it is now my first string guitar.

I just posted a fantastic Legend LX in the for sale section. Feel free to take a look. Heck, feel even more free to make an offer! ;)

Go for it, it might be easier to play. It will add a little different sound to your music.

Fill it up Mac?

Hey ya Iffy! I half thought you might go after this one to set next to your 96C. I know you like your burgundy ('Course the guitar's nice too). :p
