Location: Jet City | I've recently been on the hunt for a good Strat copy that's made in the USA.Not being much of a Strat fan, I wanted to keep it on the low dollar side so I've been grabbing up a few different styles from Peavey, well, cuz they're inexpensive. I've tried several T-series, Predators, and Falcons and now finally have found the one I'm keeping.
The Peavey Predator is very much like a vintage Strat with size, weight, shape and feel. The tremolo is a vintage "synchronized" style like on older Strats and now the Mexican made ones. Classic 3 knob configuration. Pickups are great, better than MIM Fenders in my opinion, and guess what? They're MADE IN AMERICA! Right in Meridian, MS.
Some of you may have seen my Predator before. It's my favorite era of these with the rounded headstock and Predator script logo with the small pointy Peavey logo. It's a beauty of a guitar, but it's too much of a Strat for my tastes so it's gonna go on the chopping block...
The 5-way switch was intermittently cutting out at position 5 and it didn't have the trem arm anymore. I got the switch and arm from Peavey's parts department and had my local guitar guy (I don't do solder) pop the switch in. It's in very good condition with just a couple minor scuffs....
