NOT MINE!! I know a lot of Ovation players also seem to like Takamines and this nice parlor guitar will probably go for a song.
If anybody here already had bids in and was hoping to keep it 'under the radar'... my apologies.
I wanted to bid myself but, alas... no shipping to Canada (I even begged a little :D ).
This is a "... limited edition, handmade replica of a Bruno parlor guitar from the 1800's..." and appears to be in nice shape... Hope it finds a good home... |

42 lbs for an acoustic guitar is INSANE!! I told them as much, but their explanation was, that Fedex uses some kind of 'voodoo math' based on a box's dimensions to calculate their rates.
Almost a guarantee that you get hosed on the shipping... |

Yes in fact for oversized packages FedEx calculates a "weight equivilent" for charges. I typed my zip code into the calculator and guess what ... it's $28.75 FedEx ground to my house. Extremely reasonable, and not at all a good example of getting hosed. Just my opinion. |

If ya can fit 75# in a 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8" box, it's just $4.95 USPS... |

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba CANADA | Yes, Dave $28.75 shipping is very reasonable... (thanks for the Sunday morning 'dressing down' btw, always a great way to start the day :D )
When the calculator was showing a price to Canada (it isn't anymore...) it was $200+, which isn't reasonable at all. By the way, I do understand the concept of length+girth=price... it just isn't a very practical way of doing it in my opinion. The only thing it accomplishes is to discourage international shipping... but maybe that is the idea, who knows?
None of the Goodwill outlets I have contacted so far have been willing to ship USPS, which I think would save their customers a lot of money in the long run.
Most of their stores won't ship to Canada anyway, so the point for me is moot. Before too long, I will have a US address and this won't be a problem... |
