I was surprised to hear Bernie died a few days ago. Usually I hear about these deaths first on the OFC. |

You've seen him, Beal. Actor, comedian, had his own show, was in Ocean's 11 and 12, I think too. |

Anyone hear about BB King's health? I saw him on an ad for diabetes not too long ago. Anyone want to take bets on who will complete the trifecta? |

| No I'd never heard of him, but my kids had and were saddened. I've never even seen the original ratpack Ocean's 11 let alone the remakes/sequels.
I live in a strange hinterland which rarely interfaces with the real world. The soundtrack is by Duke Ellington and Django. I only connect with reality during the football season (which starts on Saturday). And the impending visit from the Sage of Virginia doesn't help with my grasp of reality. |

Location: Rego Park, NY, | I had pneumonia in 2000. When I was going through the worst of it I actually worked 73 hours in the drug store. I had scheduled the week off at the hospital to work in the store while the owner went on vacation. I felt like I had a bed of nails that were pressed into my head. The vertigo, bodyaches and dificulty breathing was horrible. I know for a fact that I caught pneumonia from a customer in the drug store. This customer came in with prescriptions for Levaquin and Humibid(now known as Mucinex(DM)). Withiin a few days I could barely stand up. I was given the same medications by my doctor. I clearly understood at that time why people die from pneumonia. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. To this day I cannot stand the cold weather and in the summer I sleep with a sweat shirt on. Even on the days when the humidity is high I wake up in the morning and my sweatshirt is bone dry. |

I really am pathetic. You finally see the truth.
Don't worry, you have an excuse. You're a Brit. |

I am familiar with Pneumonia though. Back in the Ovation days I had it so bad I missed a month of work. I'm sure if any "bad O's" came out of Moosup in 1980, it was during that time. :) Once you get it, you are prone to get it again and again for the next five years. I did. |

I remember a line from another late comedian, Rodney Dangerfield: "hey, at my age I could go any day; and I hope so because I haven't gone today yet!"
RIP Bernie and thanks for the laughs... |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | It seems to me that maybe in my younger daze I didn't notice some of the people "leaving the building"...
Or maybe it was because they weren't of "my generation"...
I noticed went some rock star OD'ed, but otherwise I must not have been paying attention.
Although I didn't really keep-up with Bernie Mac, upon seeing film clips of some of his movies I recognize who he is and he was pretty funny.
I said all that to say, without an OD or a plane crash... 50 seems kinda young to just Die.
Rest in Peace, Dude. |

This is the downside of getting old. |

| Way to young, very funny guy. Had a wide open acting career going too. Paid his dues to the comedy circuts and was just becoming a big name.
Makes guy's like me in our late 40's take notice of life when someone this young dies. |
