Location: Nashville, TN | Custom Shop Ovation EA 63 Viper Green with Ebony Epaulets..Ebony fretboard..Natural back…This guitar survived the Nashville 2010 flood..the original case was destroyed, but the guitar survived & was completely restored by Ovation ‘endorsed’ Ed Beaver Guitars @ Soundcheck in Nashville. The tuners, pre-amp & electronics were replaced..the cavity cover were cut by hand & replaced..the guitar is in very good condition except for a few light scratches that were there before the flood. (see the photo that says side scuffs) the guitar is a little dusty from being stored to completely ready..they would not let me have it back till it was OK’d by Ed. It took a year…..the pictures were taken on a Sony Cybershot so are not the best..there are plenty of ‘reflections’ but hopefully you can see the guitar enough to know it is a ‘one of a kind’ unique instrument. I’m not a gut string guy & have no use for this. The case was donated by Martin & is new, but does have a few small paint drops on it from when the areas were repainted in Soundcheck-Nashville. The guitar fits in it fine with a couple towels. Ovation wanted $5000 to replace the guitar, so we chose to restore it. Ed Beaver will answer any questions you have about the restoration. 616-714-5593. I will entertain trade for EA Vipers or Parker Flys otherwise, $1450.00 is what I’m asking…the last 2 pictures are the guitar when I got it..as you can see it’s not too much different

Nice looking viper. I wish Ovation would have finished out the back like that, instead of coating it with the black stuff. The 63's are great guitars, totally in line with the Gibson CE as far as quality and sound are concerned. I do think the necks play differently though.
I always thought that Ovation really cut themselves short by applying black to the back, instead of the natural finish your guitar has.
Good luck on your sale. That is a beautiful guitar. |
