Here is a once damaged Adamas 1685-5 12 string with the textured top we all know rules.
Before I got it it had suffered some form of rapid deceleration syndrome and was unplayable.
I can honestly say it is now extremely playable (and has held together for several Months now) and is still a vibrant, contributing member of society.
Unfortunately I lack the carving skills to make it look untouched.
Let the pictures show for themselves and again I will vouch for its playability and voice.
With equally seasoned case, $700 shipped US.

... and a question: On the pics the headstock of both looks like natutal finish, both of mine (also a 1685-5 and the 1681-7 you had found on ebay) were gloss finished. Did they made them in both finishes?
My 1881-5 IS natural...

BTW-- Having these two side-by-side, I learnt sumptin'
I always said that my 1681 doesn't have a snot-blob...
Actually, I think that the whole top of that one is covered by that pick-guard material.
maybe...
The top of the 1681 is shinier than the 1685, like the snot-blob.
(custom order? or is that how they did it in '98?)
I really wanted to take the 1685 out today, but it is raining too much.

Why bother, you've done very well lately both buying and selling on "MWoody's List"… ;) (Besides, in light of recent discussions, it's hard to read a Craig's List post without wondering if the item is hot.)
Superficial cosmetic issues notwithstanding, you got one of the finest playing/sounding 12-strings on the planet at a bargain price. You're going to have a hard time letting it go at that price when Mike wants it back. ;)
