Good luck on that one brother. I tried to find one once, and ended up buying an old suitcase from a thrift store for 2 bucks, to cannibalize the handle from. In the end, for all the work inolved, I think it would have been better just to buy a replacement case from someone here or on Ebay.

There are 5 such cases on Ebay right now. Here's one WITH a project guitar (Spare Parts???) that's at $51:

Ovation Guitar and Case

And here's just a case... (the others for sale are priced abov $150, but this one is still at $51 :

You can start with these guys:

I've done handle repairs- not hard, but a challenge. Latches are even more challenging (more alignment & riveting issues)
Best of luck!

As cool as it might seem to have one of the old brown cases, if I were you I'd get a brand new case. The glue used in the lining seems to outgas, even years and years later, and if you leave the guitar in the case for any length of time, your strings will corrode. Plus, the old cases tend to warp. Call Al, get yourself a new case, then YOU can put your old broken one on ebay too.

Careful with that one...

I was looking for a guitar case and I got a "Vintage Brown Ovation Case with Free Guitar"...
The guitar had a broken headstock, so I just figured that I could get the tuners and the preamp. Of course, I glued the guitar together and it sounds great. (don't look so great, but...)

So I still had to buy a Real new case for $99 for the original guitar...
In the end it might be better to just grab a new handle somewhere.
Or just get a whole new case.

OK, I'll solve your problem. Buy the Ovation Guitar and Case; send me the guitar.

Good point above about buying an old case. I know you probably want to keep the original "vintage" case but it's true that it probaly will not correctly protect your instrument anymore. The cost of a newer replcement isn't much, and you could still hang on to the old one as keepsake. How badly do you want to protect your investment?

If it's a 1970 guitar, the brown case is not the original one anyway. It would have had a plywood Geib case.
