Can anyone give me any information on my Balladeer. The labels say "Made in Korea" but I can find no reference to this model ever being made in Korea.
Thank you |

SerNo 398626 was made in 1989.
Excellent work, great guitar, usually see a small discount from US made. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I thought I had seen one with a label that said Balladeer inside, just like some of them say Celebrity. I have been known to imagine things, though. Did the Korean Balladeers have a Balladeer by Ovation label? |

Label say "Ovation Balladeer, Model 4861, A Kamen product Made in Korea". Serial no is 1417077. Stamped on the inside back Ovation USA.
Great guitar, more than happy with it - strange what washes up on these shores.
Thanks again

It is worth noting that Ovation marketed them simply as 'Balladeer', not Standard Balladeer. The features are different. |

I try to drop in on them every 2-3 months. Good people and usually give decent descriptions of what they are selling. |

Location: On the road - Europe | Having seen a new Balladeer advertised on ebay [co.uk]as made in Korea. I assumed that this was an error - probably a 1989 guitar. Questioned the seller, who insisted he was correct. Searched the Intenet. Found no information but did find several dealers selling new Balladeers, made in Korea. I doubt that they will appear in the US where prices are lower on home produced instruments but in England they are joining the market at a price just above to the upper range of Celebrity. Also informed that Country Artist also now being made there. Any more information?
Cheers Paul.
Just added a '79 Legend to my collection and am awaiting delivery. |

| I had wondered why the one on ebay started so low...thought it was seller's oversight....mike :) |

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | I have one of these Made in Korea Balladeers as well. I was told that Ovation sent all of the materials, parts, and pieces to Korea to contiue the line while the Ovation facilities here in the US were being upgraded. After the upgrades they brought everything back and continued here. Nothing from an official source, just what I was told. |

Location: On the road - Europe | I was aware of the 4861 from 1989 [thanks to this board] but I was suprised to find that they are again being made 4771 in Korea. Is the above expanation for 1989 or/and 2006? |
