Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I recently decided to try out some medium gauged strings on my Adamas, to see how much more sound I could tweek out of her on Sunday mornings. I've been using lights exclusively for the last 5 years, and really haven't had any problems. I just wanted to try something different.
Well, this morning after doing some prelude numbers on my O-classical, I changed guitars to the Adamas, to start the main set. on the first song, POP!... the d string broke. I probably could have got by without the one string, but it didn't come completely off. It just layed over the others and kept them from sounding. I quickly switched back to the classical, but I couldn't hear it over the other instruments, and she didn't like the pick very much. I've never had that happen with the light gauged strings, only with these recently installed mediums. Are Medium strings more prone to breakage due to the higher tension? |

Location: Michigan | that was a strange thing to happen. maybe it had a small kink in it. ive had that happen on my electrics (heh i used to snap them off for fun at the end of a show by wrenching on them with my picking hand for interesting noises.) but never on an acoustic. |

I just threw an extra 13 on it from a busted set of D'Addarios.
Correct me if I am wrong but the top strings on the nanowebs are uncoated anyway....right????? |
