Location: Geneseo Illinois (The Sticks) | I have searched within a 200 mile area looking for ANY of the Adamas carbon top guitars without any luck! I live 200 miles SW of Chicago. Where do I find one to try?
I really like the looks of the 2080, off-set sound hole reminds me of McPherson. How do they sound acoustically?
Double action truss rod and carbon top!, they should beat the hell out of Rainsong for playability but how about sound? |

Location: NYC | I saw the 2080 advertised on massmusic.net today. It quotes a price of @2,099.00, and includes a free 9158-0 case. Very interesting. Is this place on the level? |

Location: NJ | I wouldn't doubt if y'had to wait for them to order one. They probably got the press release, and figured they'd advertise 'em before they're available . . .
. . . but I may be wrong, as well.

| I was saving upo for the 2080, but those prices are more than I'm willing to go. The 2006 collector $1999? the 2080, $2100? Wow those prices are rising and the competition starts to look more appealing. |

I think anyone here who owns an Adamas in that range will tell you there is next to nothing in the competition that can touch these guitars at that price. I've played many $2k and $3k TayMarGibs that don't measure up to my 1581, the reissue of which sells for $2100. Adamas (Adamii?) and Ovations are incredible values for the price. |

The best thing about all the new units coming out of CT is that there will be more used deals available.

Wow those prices are rising and the competition starts to look more appealing. The "competitions" prices are also rising. It will cost you more for a "basic" Guild D55 (no pickup or preamp) than anything you've mentioned. A comparable Taylor will be anywhere from $500 to $1500, and more likely the $1500 when comparing the Adamas acoutrements (how do I spell check?).
As Lee Iacocca says in the Chrysler commercials, if you can find a better guitar, but it!
That the things we want cost more than we want to spend is a problem all of us deal with. Economists will tell you this is an indication of faster inflation than the public is willing to put up with. And, realists will tell you to just accept it. Either way, that's life as we all know it. |

Location: south east Michigan | Well I know who to blame here. At the last tour one of US stood up...in front of Ovation sales, service, management and engineering.... and announced that Ovations are just to inexpensive. I won't name any names here. I will say that as a group, we were aPAULed and rather moody for the rest of the day. ;) |

There's a tradeoff here in that if Ovations sell cheaply, they will be considered cheap guitars. If they sell for a price that actually puts them with the guitars with which they compete, we complain about them being too expensive.
We have become quite spoiled..... |

Relatively upper end Taylors sell for $2500 to $3000 and the top end Taylors sell for $4000.
Sorry, I forgot a very important word. Didn't mean to mislead anyone. |

I don't think I said they were too inexpensive, but rather that they competed with guitars more expensive. What I remember being said was that Ovation should charge more for thier guitars so they are taken seriously as competition.
Then... the crowded, noisy room got real quiet... |

Location: closely held secret | In this case the silence was a roomful of stunned OFC members trying to remember how to breath. A few recovered sooner than others, but we were able to restrain them before anyone was injured. |
