BY RECOMMENDATION of our last list...
Richard Thompson - Front Parlour Ballads
"E" (Mark Everett) - Broken Toy Shop & A Man Called (E)
BY DISCOVERY OR VERBAL RECOMMENDATIONS....
Les Paul & Friends - American Made World Played
Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte
The Thorns - The Sunset Sessions
Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals - Burn To Shine
3 - Wake Pigs
Since I have just about worn these out, I am looking for more great suggestions from my fellow OFCers. |

Currently in the CD Changer:
The Aqua Velvets -- Nomad
Soul Asylum -- Grave Dancer's Union
Los Lonely Boys
John Mayall -- Spinning Coin
Martin Zellar -- They Even Use the Hooves
Fastball -- All The Pain Money Can Buy |

In the player, and, my favorite for the past few years. The first track is unaccompanied acoustic of "Hear My Train Comin'". I just got the tab, and plan to learn it, one lick at a time. |

Location: Earth·SolarSystem·LocalInterstellarCloud·Local Bub | Martin Zeller (and The Hardways)- I'd recommend "Live, Two Guitars, A Bass and Drums". Acoustic/Electric Rock with an folky/rockabilly edge. His voice is ever so slightly reminiscent of Jimmy Dale Gilmore. Good Stuff. I really like "Time and Time Again"..."The Many Moods of Martin Zeller" is good too as well as Stonebobbo's choice...
On the player...
Best of John Redborn... (Virtuoso Blues/Celtic)
Pat Metheny "One Quite Night"
Chris Smither, "Live as I Will Ever Be"
Kasey Chambers, "Barricades and Brickwalls"
Scott Miller, "Thus Always to Tyrants" |

I've been listening to some rockabilly lately, especially Flat Duo Jets and Cigar Store Indians. |

You can actually download the entire album here. Whether you like Mcphersons or not, this is some high quality pickin' and strummin'.
Edit: Just noticed if you click on "Listen to Mcpherson Music", bottom left corner, you can stream them.
Oh, and Big Notes by Flim & the BB's. No guitars, but any of thier albums make me smile and start tapping my foot.
I think the De Grassi anthology is in there too, just hasn't made it around yet. |

Genesis "And Then There Were Three"
Ian Anderson "Live"(with Orchestra)
Randy Newman's "Faust"
Loggins&Messina "Live"(from their recent tour) |

It is "Aqualung" live (2005), with Anderson and Barre and then the rest of the band. Sounds terrific and it is nice to hear them play it from start to finish in really great quality and sound. |

After about 6 hours of banjo music Cliff could buy anything he could want as long as it's not a banjo.

| Cool - I've only ever heard of him rather than actually heard him. Hard to find stuff over here. And I'm automatically nervous about people called Geoff, however they spell it...
All you really need to know about Bix is that Satchmo thought he was a genius. And that he played with crap musicians virtually all his short career. But faced with a choice between good musicians and good company, he took the good company. Which is why he was dead at 28. :( |

John Randall: Walking Among the Living (He and Bill Anderson co-wrote "Whiskey Lullaby" and his version is on the cd). Wonderful voice and great acoustic guitar player.
Patty Loveless: On Your Way Home. Brilliant.
Martina McBride: Timeless (buy it at Target; their version has 4 extra tunes. Very traditional real country covers; vintage tunes recorded with vintage instruments and vintage equipment.
Ozomatli: Live at the Fillmore
Grateful Dead: 5 CD Soundtrack from the Grateful Dead Movie (new Rhino Records Re-Issue--DVD is fun, too)
Chicago: Live at Carnegie Hall-4 CDs (New Re-Issue again from Rhino Records)
Isaac Hayes: Can You Dig It? New Stax Re-Issue
And: I am eagerly anticipating the new release from Hiromi Uehara on Telarc which will be titled "Spiral" released on the 17th. Sorry guys, she plays a piano, and she's beyond brilliant. Available in SACD, too! |

The Haoles ...... What I Did On My Vacation.
Caught this act at a local music festival 2 years ago. Filled my ears with fun. Completely different from, but similar mindset to, Helen Gone.
NRBQ .... Message For The Message Age.
If you know, then you know.
If you don't, it's about time.
ASAP, see the greatest live band in the history of music. PERIOD
Dan Hicks , (no relation, I'm sure) Beatin' The Heat
Harry Nilsson .... Anthology.
