Hey there , I just purchased a new millinieum edition adamas serial # 15910 . I contacted ovation and they told me that only 75 of these were ever made . I am trying to find out what # this one was and I can't seem to do so on this website . I am still waiting for a reply on this from ovation . Can anyone help me on this ? I see from the serial # that is was a 1999 made unit but I want to no what production # it might be ? I would also ask if anyone has a good idea what this guitar would be worth minus the actual paperwork ? Thanks

Welcome...you got it cheap, cheap, cheap!

I backed off as there was another OFC'er in the bidding - should have gone for $2,100-2,500. As this one came with warranty, $2,500 would have been fair.

Do a search under "millennium" and "millenium" - you'll enjoy the previous postings.

Again, welcome.

Thanks MWoody & Tony for the welcome and your info , now if I can only get my other half to somehow understand the obsession of never having to many guitars in your house . Thanks Again .

Thanks , I need it . I told myself that this is the year I am going to do something nice for myself , so after seeing and playing a millennium 5 years ago and not being able to buy it I found this one and told myself "if you don't do it now you never will" . I just ordered a Roland AC 60 two weeks ago and that should be in at the end of the week so I can't wait to hear this puppy played through it .
Yes to being from Southeast Michigan . From reading some of your messages I was just about your next door neighbor at one time . Im from the Metro Beach area of Harrison Twp.

guitarwannebe welcome,

nice score. keep coming back here and you will see how nice of a score over time.

Tony,
please bid over me any time (unless it's for a shiny bowl GCDB 6 or 12 string :D ). Lots of times I bid to see if i can catch something at a minimum price. Only every so often does it work, but it is cool when it does.
sorry to all who held back on bidding cause of me. seriously if I want it, you will know...

   peace mike

GWB,

This guitar simply tore my heart out through my eyes when I first saw it. Then I heard the Voice!!
It's not "The One Guitar" (that title belongs to the U681T), But it is truely beautiful in many respects. I have my good friend Tony to thank for the opportunity to own one. I'm surprised another OFC member that wants one was not also in the hunt, but I'm glad you got it.

Welcome and thanks for answering my invite.
You can go to This site if you want to see where a couple of others are (and a bunch of other really cool guitars), but be careful; sites like this cause GAS....

I was going to bid on this one as well, but pulled out when I saw Fugot bidding. I was hanging on the keyboard at the close.
Can't believe it went so low, congrats GWB

Probably a good thing too, I've dropped enough $$$ over the last three months on guitars.
Need to take a break  at least until that 1187-247 Adamas #47 Slot Head Reissue hits the streets.
Has anyone received one yet?

Hey Slipkid , Huber Breese is originaly where I played the Millennium 5 or 6 years ago . I use to go in there about once a week and admire it and play it but I also couldn't walk the walk so I ended up buying a CS-357 translucent blue one . The day I bought it a factory Ovation Rep was there and set the action on it lower for me and threw in a factory case so I left $450.00 lighter and I still enjoy playing that thing today . I still think the CS-357 is a good bang for your buck. I have since bought a Adamas 1598-MERB, and now I can finally stop dreaming of the one that got away with all of the planets on the neck . I also collect and have three 1965 John Lennon Casinos . Two reissues and one original .Im sorry that I have been so long winded but I will keep it short from here on out.

Thats my story and Im sticking to it .

Thanks to all of you OFC members for the warm welcome and info about these guitars . GWB

GWB,

You have 15910. MtnBikerFred has number 15918. I have number 16596. Obviously they did NOT make these with sequential serial numbers. Looks like you and fred have early ones and mine is later.

The Reference page says that Adamas serial numbers 14624 to 16136 were made in 1999. Averages states yours is late 1999. Looks like mine was in 2000.

If you want them to close it on Friday nights then maybe I should come up and play .

I have been told that the police could arrest me for attempted murder with a stringed instrument .

You would have to go look at the Work Order process and when a guitar has an identity.

I'm sure they have many guitars going at once. I don't know when a serial number is assigned. Is the number engraved into the neck immediately after the neck is cut or is it when the whole guitar is complete/assembled?

I am stroking out waiting for my guitar to arrive . I have been checking the Fed-Ex website and it is now in Memphis TN. bound for the Motor City .
I can't stop checking to see where it is at . My other half thinks that I have completely lost my mind ( which I think I finally have ) over a guitar . She keeps yelling at me to get off that Fu#@*ing computer and watch a movie with her .
This may be the final countdown . I think that she is going to kill me over this one , but I hope that it will be after I receive my guitar and get to play it just once.
Oh WOW this is a very good therapy site for guitar addiction.......GWB

GWB, the wait is half the fun. As far as this being a 'good therapy site', it just keeps me in perpetual GAS. I didn't know about the millennium model until reading about it on OFC. Now it's on my list. At least I get to hear from somebody as lucky as you getting one, and that makes me feel great.

We don't seek a cure but we meet often!

It won't say "Delivered" until it already arrives so lay off the PC checks.

That leaves you with about 12 hours to spend some time with her and let her know that she is the important thing in this world to you!
If that don't work just remind her that she knew you were a guitar player when she married you!

The expected delivery date is the 18th , which I think is one day later than I expect . I am asking all of the fed ex drivers to please drive safe and prudent on all of your deliveries .

MWoody, I do love my other half and she knows it , but this is like waiting for a new 20 year old HOT TOOD-E chick to arrive at your house for a good old fasion Ovation 3-some that your wife agrees to ??????? Ohhhh got to go see where my guitar is now !!! GWB.

Al (alpep) is the main dealer here on the OFC. You can find his info in the "Sponsored By" green section to the left. If you don't have a green menu bar to the left, click on "Ovation Fan Club" down at the very bottom of the page. Right between "Contact Us" and "Privacy Statement".

Plain mineral oil works, but it is a little messy. Kyser makes "Lem-oil" that works pretty good.

GWB,

Do yourself a favor and go get the Dunlop System 65 Guitar maintenance kit. It's got Formula 65 Guitar Polish & Cleaner, Bodygloss Cream of Carnuba, String Cleaner and Conditioner, Fingerboard 01 Ceaner & Prep, and 02 Fingerboard Deep Conditioner. Basically everything you need to give her the Full Spa Treatment!!

Otherwise lemon or mineral oil will work just fine.

Have fun!!

I've used lemon oil, but heard that some lemon oil has alcohol or something that dries out the wood. Found a bottle of mineral oil in the cupboard and used it. A little goes a long way, so I'll need to buy more guitars.

Cool Cool Cool ,
I think this guitar has my personality . Spaced out . I think the neck inlays of the world and the planets are awesome looking . The blue and black graphite top is really sharp. The guitar plays and sounds great . I am going to have it set up and have the action lowered just a hair on it . I am not a full time player so I like the action to be as low as I can get it . I play this through a Roland AC 60 amp and the sound is incredible . This is one beautiful guitar and I am so glad I got it . I wanted one when they came out with them but I could not afford one and I never thought that I would find a brand new one 6 years later , so I am a happy camper . Some things are worth waitng for . I would like to pose a question to OFC members about the Adamas Millenium guitar . I was informed that only 75 of these Millenium editions were made. Do you think that these will increase much in value ? How do you like the way they sound and the way they play ? Is the quality there for the price that comes along with the guitar ?
I am very interested in hearing your replys .

GWB.

I don't own one and have only played one once, but I think everything about it is standard SMT except for the cosmetics, right? That being the case, playability and sound will be what you would expect from an SMT. Some people like them.

Weather or not it will increase in value because of the rarity is tough to judge. If you're looking for an investment, there's probably better Ovations to be on the look out for. The real prize would be if you had the matched 6 string AND 12 string millenium set!

The ad states 200 were made. I thought the number was 75. This serial number is 16573. Right before mine (16596) and quite a bit after Fred and Guitarwannabe's.

Craig, are you coming to Old Magnolia Town this year?

not sure when written:

We built about 75 of the Millennium guitars they had a retail price of about $3,200.00. I say about because they were never in price list or catalog. This was a low production limited edition piece really cool looking to as you know.

Dave
Witco (and others),

I recvently played an early Melissa Ethridge from the same era (Optima Pre-amp) at Sam Ash. It is brand new and is almost exactly like the Mill CB except it's a hundred times uglier :D The Mill CB was the first smooth-top CVT. They *may* have changed bracing, material, etc to set the Mill CB apart from the Melissa. I don't think it sounds quite like the current CVT, and definately different from the SMT. Not better or worse, just different. OK marketing dept guys, applaud if you must. It has a Unique Voice....

I love the look of the ME! It totally blew me away the first time I saw one. Bought the 02 CE instead and saved a grand, but I still lust after that blue beauty.
Saw one in the local store today.. I think they are asking like 2400 for it.. Got to save the pennies and maybe it will still be there when I get enough. :D
