Location: Houston, TX | I was searching through old threads looking for information about the UKII and stumbled across this:
"Guitars are art, they are meant to be hung on the walls.
Guitars are functional, they are meant to be played.
Guitars are useful, like the Vox fat jazz pos that was in a case and held up the bottom of the sofa for 2 years in college.
Guitars are currency, I've made some great trades, a Les Paul for a Caddy conv. one guitar for carpeting...
guitars are engineering marvels, how you make those parts make those sounds.
Guitars can be a nice investment vehicle and they usually appreciate tax free
Guitars make you feel good, looking at them, playing them, and he who dies with the most guitars wins."
I agree with all of it - but I am unsure how to trade a guitar for carpet, should the need arise. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Here's how a married guy trades a guitar for carpet. I get a 1537, my wife recarpets the family room and den. I pay for both, but my wife writes the checks.
I know it's not really a trade. I get the guitar, but "we" get the new carpet. |

I do believe this thread has gone downhill faster than anything since "Big Stubby", which took the lead right out of the gate. |

Within 2 weeks after receiving my Adamas, we had a new oak kitchen floor... |

Location: Boise, Idaho | That's why GAS is so expensive. My wife did pay for the mother of all decks and a few other obscenely expensive remodel projects out of her inheritance, however, and a trip to Italy out of her wages. This was just an awfully expensive year for me to become obsessed with buying Ovations. It's all you guys' fault. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I tried to get her to buy my guitars. She wouldn't do it. So now I just spend "our" money on guitars, so she has to spend "her" money on other stuff because we ran out of "our" money.
I'm sure she makes more than me per hour, especially since I spend most of my time at work on this board. It doesn't pay very well. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Not quite, Moody, she's a nurse. Neurosurgeons in this area make as much as anywhere in the country and we have the largest number of them per capita. Therefore, we have more back surgeries per capita than anywhere in the country.
Unfortunately, for attorneys we are "the Bosnia of legal fees", to quote a former partner of mine.
When you add in my money to her money and figure she controls all our money, she does make a lot more than me. |

Location: SoCal | My wife is a nurse as well at a large, well known private hospital in Newport Beach. They advertise that they are number one in treating cardiac care in the country. Now, does that mean that I live in an extemely stressful area, or that everything to them is a heart problem? |
