Location: Paris/France | Hello,
I'm so glad to share with you my happiness.
My new Adamas is arrived today and it's a pure beauty.
It's a 1682-5 Adamas II model with a Wide Neck.
This guitar seems to be rare and I don't have any information about it.
I've found it listed in some price lists from the early 80's but nothing in catalogs from this period!!
The sound is simply wonderful with so much projection.
It's my first wide neck guitar and now I can understand why so much people don't want anything else than a wide neck!!
Like always, the Ovation craftmens have done a fantastic job.
This guitar was built in 1982 and 24 years after, it seems to be a new model.
I've put some pics in my gallery.
Jerome :)
PS: Thank you so much Karl for your help. ;)

It would seem that the French invented the word!! :D
Very nice! I am almost afraid to play a wide neck. I might be ruined! |

| This is a great relief. For the last two weeks he's been like an expectant father whose wife is two weeks overdue. :D |

Location: Paris/France | You're right Schroeder, I was so anxious these last 2 weeks...
Thanks for being here during this time. ;)
I don't think it's a custom made.
There's a mention of the 1682-5 in this GERMAN PRICE LIST.
But it's a rare model.
I don't remember to have seen another on Ebay since 5 or 6 years.
Does anybody knows how much were made??
The seller said that less than 200 models were built...
Any information about this guitar will be welcome.

So I am only able to muster a semi right now. Paris in the spring time is definately on my to-do list. My 25th wedding anniversary is in May and was thinking it would be nice to go to Paris and celebrate, but I'm a little concerned that the wife might be pissed to be left back in Phoneix with me not around.

Location: Germany | Congratulations Jerome! I'm very happy that it arrived save in your home.
I assume that this model was made only for the German market in the early eighties. I know of another wide neck Adamas II (1682-7) in a German guitar store not far away from me. It is brand new, never played and displayed in a vitrine only. Anyway, it's for sale. Serial # is 1476 (from 1980).
