The Academy guitars were unique in that they had a moulded plastic soundboard with integral braces. They were never made with Adamas style multi-holes. They were USA made in the late 70's. This is not one of those, it's a recent import. Mr Keller has a 12-fret slothead Academy which sounds surprisingly good for what it is.

I think it's a knock-off. Too many things not right (neck, epaulets, preamp, truss rod). Especially the seller's mathmatical analysis ... 1250 DM at 1.44 = $868, not $1750.
