I agree that shop needs some sawdust in it but I imagine he cleaned it to take the pics for the auction. Which btw is a steal at only $43K for all those beautifully restored,made in the U.S.A.,Delta machines and all the rest of the tools and equipment!
I normally try to keep my shop clean but it usually winds up in a mess :eek: |

Location: Omaha, NE | That shop is almost creepy, it is so clean. That guy was obsessed! Did you see how he not only painted his vice to match the rest of the equipment, he even went to the trouble to paint the cast-in letters on the side? Wow.
I wonder if he ever actually made anything, other than exceptionally well organized racks to hold his chisels...

This is the same way.
What I see is pride in ownership and an obsessive compulsion for more machnery! I hope the Seller is still healthy and can build an even better one! |

Location: Midland, MI | Thanks! I've already been in contact with CurlyWoods (they sell on fleaBay, too, didja know?) and he has some boards that fit the bill. He'd have to have them resawn to thickness, but figured the charge would be minimal. I'm just waiting on 'pictures' (how sad is that?) but I'll check out the other link, too. Just so's you know (not that anyone cares), this is for the speaker cab enclosure for my scratch built amp (head). I have the curly cherry for the head planed, and the drawings done (I'm 'hiring' the woodworking out to a buddy of mine), just need to get it in the shop.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I have a number of books showing Leo Fender's shop in the early 1950's. It was not nearly as nice as this. I sure do understand the obsession. Can a real guy really ever have enough tools? Can a guitar guy really ever have enough equipment? |

I too wondered if he may be selling for health reasons but he's probably just ready to retire after enjoying many years in business (he states in the ad that he did furniture repair)or just doing what he loved,working with wood.(very therapeutic)
I believe he's priced his equipment fairly enough as not to not give away his machinery he so lovingly restored and used but to make it reasonably available for the right person, who (hopefully) knows and appreciates quality, so they can continue to put it to use. |
