Still working my fingers back into shape with my new C2078LX. I gotta ask the question.

The coolest thing about my 1778LX is how responsive it is to a variety of playing styles. When I drive it or hammer on/off it kind of "perks up"!

I want to see if having the 12 string reverse strung will allow me to work it the same way.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has played a reversed strung 12????

Are you talking about stringing it like a Rickenbacher, with the heavy strings on top of the octive strings? You'd have to recut the nut for that.

Yup!
I'm just lookin for a nudge to send it to the factory and have it done. I wasn't brave enough to order it that way.

I'm thinking it falls in line with the whole "LX" line of thinking as well.

I've got to talk to John (Budny) and see if they are a "stock" item or if it means sending it in.
If I have to send it in I can pick it up May 19th! I'd keep the original to change back and also because I'm cheap and I don't throw nuth'in away.

Need the ability to upload pictures here so I can post some of that "guitar porn" I've heard about.

Yep, the Ric sound is classic. I would just order an extra nut like Bill said.

I have emailed CT.

I didn't want to have Google for and "extra nut".

On the premise that you can't hijack a thread you started here are some pictures of the guitar in question.

Thanks to DVD for the hook-up:

Beautiful, but why would you string it from the top to the bottom? Won't you need special string tubes for that?

Restrung a guild f512 in 'reverse' to accomodate fingerpicking. Worked great. Did seem a bit harder for me to hold barre chords with heavier guage strings.

Woody, let me know if the factory can provide reverse cut nuts. Now that the Ric in in other hands, I was thinking about swapping over the Deacon12. Might even try it on the CL12.

MWoody, as talented you are with tools, you should have no trouble in making your own. Get a few extra nut blanks and a set of nut files and go for it. (It only took me three tries to get my first 12 string nut right).

Tdeej, at three trys you are way more better than I. I am thinking about $100 to get the "right" tooling to do nuts when CT already has the measurements within a gnats you know what. I had a long learning curve on the golden Viper nut.

Beautiful guitar,Woody. See what all your hardwork and craftsmanship has earned you!

I love the fretboard inlays and those laser cut inlaid epaulets are tight.....

Congrats

Hhmmm.. This has me thinking. Has anyone tried this on an Adamas? Not that there is aything wrong with the tone the guitar is outputting now but such a simple change for a while that can be easily reversed might be nice. Another question is would the bridge need to be replaced considering its grooved for the current string configuration?
