I'm in Dallas at the moment, looking for a store that sells the 1773 LX (nylon string).
Can anyone recommend a store to try it, or maybe an online place twhere I could buy it. Can't find a lot of websites that sell this guitar.
I just arrived in the US, don't know many places to look at.

Thanks for any help.

Contact Al Pepiak. He's one of the founders of this board, an Ovation dealer, and just about as honest an individual as you can find. I bought my 1773LX thru him with no problems at all. Here's a link to his website, with his contact info.

You're going to like the 1773LX. You're going to like the 1773LX. The sound of a deep bowl classical, but much more comfortable to play.

Hey Moody,

Thanks for your help.

How would you compare the sound and playability of the 1773 with the ones of the 1763?

I used to own a 1763. Very similar sound, much easier to play due to 1 7/8" neck and shallower body. I'd take the 1773LX over the 1763 easily.

Moody,
Did the deep bowl body of your 1763 bother you while playing? Is the shallow body of the 1773 Lx much much confortable (I usually play on a chair or couch with the guitar on my laps)?
That might be a decisive buying factor for me.

The GC in N. Dallas (635 and ?Marsh, just west of the toll road) had one about a month ago. Dunno if it is still there.

GC in Arlington had a 6773LX about 2 weeks ago give'em a call ask to speak to Mike daytime sales/manager. If he doesn't have it he can find which store does. or he can look in their inventory store wide to see if they have what your looking for.

I think the mid depth bowl on the 1773LX is more comfortable than the deep bowl. I also like the narrower neck.

I'm going to bring my 1773LX to CT in May. Come on out and play it.
