If this isn't a scam, then somebody just got an unbelievable deal on one of those extremely limited US made McCartney Epiphone Texans. Check out the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7396932510&rd=1&...

What's curious is the item location says Alabama, but the currency is indicated in British pounds. If this is legit, what a steal!

Do these left-handed models all have the pick guard on the right-hand side?

Hand-Aged? There must be a better way to phrase that.

At last years NAMM a bunch of visited the Gibson booth and tried out a US-made McCartney Texan reissue right alongside the Jap version which was about 1/5th of the price. The Jap version sounded significantly better than the US. You remember that, Mr Moody?

I do recall. And I agree with your comments. But I also remember that you were much more impressed with the Epi than I was. Personal preference. But the Japanese version was better than the US one.

I freaked out over the Chinese-made Epi slothead 12 fretter that was based on the old Gibson Roy Smeck model. For me that guitar killed everything else at the show that year, regardless of price.

That was the one! I thought it was very good, just not as impressed you you. But for the money, it was excellent!

Update:

The auction was apparently a scam of some kind after all. The item has already been deleted from eBay's database (see link above).
