The Url to the auction should do it though. |

I kinda like it. Would go well with my 1581. |

According this old OVATION PRICE LIST from June 1973, the Breadwinner model was originally available in 4 colors: Black, White, Tan and Blue.
I've never seen this model in another color.

The body from this I stripped and is now a Sunburst Deacon 12.
The neck resides on the Schizo BW I have on ebay now. |

The finish of his guitar seems to be the same as a Storm Eclipse model.
Black textured!!
Exactly the same as this one:
BLACK TEXTURED BREAWINNER

| Wonder if this is original and I wonder how many of these were made in this color. I'd say if I was a betting man there are some collectors breaking into a sweat right about now.....
This is a good guitar I'm thinking. Entertaining auction to see at the end. If it makes it that far. These notoriously end up in an early ended auction????

| First time I've seen the semi-rigid fitted case. Must have been an early effort, in agreement with the early serial number. |

Location: Fayetteville, NC | CWK2 once gave a little rundown on thebreadwinner and deacon colors and the rarity. if i remember correctly it was done like white-
black-gray-tan-blue and he gave an approximate order from what there's the most of and which is more rare. Sorry I don't remember the order he gave, maybe he'll jump in again. |

Location: Scotland | A small number of early prouction Breadwinners had this blue finish with blue pickguard. This should bring big money because of it's rareity. Looks like it's in good shape. The case is called an "archcraft" case and if I remenber rightly was available throughout Breadwinner and Deacon production, it's basically felt-lined lined cardboard covered in Tolex. at around $30 they were a cheap alternative to the molded cases. There was an Archcraft case for the acostics also.
I recently sold a black B/W and still have my white one with 3 Viper pickups. My favourite breadwinner finish is Tan with tortoishell pickguard. Don't see too many in that finish |

| I am glad this one has the collectors value going for it. Because as much as I like the Adamas Blue colors this thing is really goofy looking to me in this blue. It is just not very dignified or something??

Location: 6 String Ranch | They were white, black, blue and tan. Later they were the natural satin and the barnboard satin. This is an origianl one, this blue.
There were some made for the Parfish family for props but they were a different blue. |

Location: Las Vegas | The Partridge Blue breadwinner had a white pickguard and truss rod cover (which actually sets off the blue color a lot better imho.) I always assumed that's why the color looked more like a slightly deeper cobalt blue than the sky blue of these. At any rate, the blues were really close, just a matter of how much of the white they added to it. There still are two blues in the Polane lineup.
There were also one each blue "eclipse" and offwhite "eclipse" typhoon IV basses in the textured polane. Possibly a black textured one that might have been used in only one episode, to go with the black breadwinner. Also a blue eclipse storm guitar.
While we're on the subject, if anyone in Vegas has serious spray painting cabability (compressor and room) e-mail me offlist.
Thanks!
