In Colton, OR - 44 and cloudy. Yesterday's snow has melted off so I took our 4 full garbage cans to the landfill before today's snow falls. Checked out the new powered mixer for church, played my guitars for a while and watched a movie with my wife. All I need now is a nap and a chili dog to make my day complete.

Syr, NY - 62 and sunny. Cleaned out the garage, played a little ball with my daughter, ran a couple of errands and now getting ready to make some chili dogs (swear to God, Waskel) and have a couple of cold ones with some neighbors before the SU/Pitt Big East Championship game.

Go Gerry and the Orange!

Unpacked all of the guitars that I had put away in "SafeStorage" while away on the Cruise. ("SafeStorage" = The enclosed tile shower stall in the upstairs bathroom. - Figured if the TownHouse burned, they'd escape relatively unscathed up there :-) Jeanette and I took a two mile walk into town & back, "CarTalk" too, went to HomeDepot, putting away guitar cases and tuning/packing for a gig t'night (first in about 3 weeks - hope I still remember how t'do it).

Tomorrow's s'posed to be nice again . . wake up late, do a couple of planned projects, got afternoon tickets for James Galway at NJPAC, then it's pizza and the new Sopranos season . . .

Played the 1537. Spent too much time on the computer. Did a little yard work. And then did some dry runs timing tire changes on a Porsche for an event at the Portland Porsche Parade this summer. Picking up our daughter and my 1624 at the airport this afternoon and going to a French restaurant tonight with the Porsche Club.
About 45 and mostly sunny.

82 degrees, partly cloudy. Opened up my desktop PC and removed and cleaned the power supply and CPU fans. The computer was just shutting down and the temperature was suspect. It seems to have worked, the PC has been on for several hours without incident. Then I updated some software on my laptop. Music stuff, of course. In between it all, I did some chores and yard work, and then went out to my "studio" to work on a new song. I'll confess to taking a little nap after working on the lyrics for a couple of hours. Songwriting can make a fella sleepy, especially an old one.
Very pleasant day today in this part of the planet. The clouds filter out some of the intense solar radiation, which can be brutal here.
I'm sure Mike is having a good old time, porch pickin' his big O in the hills. The best to all, Buckaroo

It hit 61 here today. Here's how my day went:

Haircuts @ Dave's (took Littleman with)

Target to pick some stuff up for SWMBO

Barnes & Nobel to violate my own moratorium on guitar mags

Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch (Littleman's favorite restaurant)

Home Depot for plastic window well covers

Dug out three of ten window wells so the 'ground' level is now below window level and installed new window well covers

Took another shower

Recorded the intro to a song and put it on my blog (for a 'Name That Horribly Interpreted Tune' item)

Read 1/2 of one of the two guitar magazines I bought (and reinstated my moratorium on buying guitar magazines)

Ran out to pick up dinner

Took Littleman on a 1/2 hour walk/bike ride (I walked, he rode)
I hope it's nice tomorrow.

I woke up next to a beautiful woman (Wife).
I got my hair cut, visited Mr. golf and played his Carved Custom Legend 12 string - and shared my new 12. I wnet to the local GC for a Gig-bag and diddn't suffer any hearing loss!

Then I found out that my Bandleader scored an Adamas 1881 from Stringedinstrument and since I was on my way over to meet him and pick up a copy of the Ovation History Book I would get it for him.

Met Glenn and Family - very nice people! Glenn had brought some incredible guitars out and I got to play a Folklore Cutaway, a 1614, A Book 6, A Custom Legend 12 and a really cool Preacher with UK II pups.

Not bad so far!

Let's see how my Ebay auction is going! :D :D

Left warm Washington DC in a rush after oversleeping the hotel alarm clock, sat in an airplane for 7 hours, playing my Traveler guitar for about three of them and discovering that the magnetic pickup in the Traveler howls like a wolf when played through the Pandora ... must be the effects of sitting in a large metal tube. Fortunately the piezo worked fine. Saw the rain in Phoenix during a plane change (first time in something like 145 days!), and then gazed at the snow covered hills surrounding the SF Bay during a roller coaster final approach before landing in Oakland in about 45 degree weather. Blasted home through a canyon road in the C4S listening to the OFC CD which lady stonebobbo put in the CD changer while she had control of the rocket this week. Plugged the Newport in an made some loud noises, had a great plate of enchiladas, and now checking in with the world before retiring to bed and renewing my familiarity with the good lady sb. All in all, a great day.

Thanks. Actually, I'm trying to get the Comanche to sound like the ASAT Classic (that was the Comanche). It's not quite there, being more 'round' than the Classic sounds through the same patch. But, I'm working on it. ;)

My wife threw a surprise 50th birthday party for me at our church where I'm one of the assistant pastors. 100 of the best friends I've had in my life were there! She'd been planning it for weeks right under my nose.
Maryanne presented me with my Birthday present...a '97 Collectors'!!!! Everyone there (and some not present)had chipped in to pay for it. I'm still opening cards this morning but I can't get to them all before church. Still counting the money that came in for the guitar...there's a lot more money than the guitar cost! No one had a better day than I did I'm truly a blessed man! John <>{

BHB happy 50th! A 100 of your best friends! Wow. I don't think I know 100 people...and my best friends could meet in a phone booth...and still have room to dance.

Loaded the car for the gig. Drove to the venue, helped unload the trailer. Helped squeeze a PA that could handle an ampitheater into the space of a small club. Played the gig. Reversed the process and told myself again how lucky I am to be part of a gigging band.

Happy B-day BHB (John is a great name, BTW, but I might be biased). The local mom and pop still had the 97 Collectors on consignment last time I was in there. It's tempting to offer them what (I think) it's really worth, but I suspect that the $1200 asking price may have something to do with the seller not wanting to, uh, sell. ;)

Thanks, Boney. 29 days. Hrmm, that may be about right. You think there's something going on I'm not aware of? ;)

Spent half the day looking for paint and stain for a project my wife and I are doing. Spent the rest of the day painting. My daughter and her husband brought over ribs and grilled them. So we had a great dinner with no work. Then played board games with kids and other family members in the evening. Only got to play my guitar for about 3 minutes while I was waiting for my wife to be ready to go to the store, but still a great day!

8 hours on a plan, 20 minutes on a train, 2 subways and a 3 block walk. Well worth it. Spending the weekend with my son in NYC before continuing home to PHX tonight. Yesterday beautiful, today rainy. Dave

Glad AZ finally got some rain, but it was nice that it waited until I left. Still revelling in the 37 I shot on the back 9 of the easiest course I ever played when I was down there. If you guys need an ego boost for your golf game, try the Casa Grande golf course.
Yesterday ended with a nice dinner with our daughter and Porsche friends at a French restaurant and then an hour or so of trying out the 1624 our daughter brought home from Portland.

Welcome to another Minnesotan! YAY! Only 34, you say? That's ok, because it's a dry cold, right? :)

It's 60 here today, even though the forecast only called for mid 50s as a max (later in the afternoon). But, it's Sunday, so I'm not doing anything (except I ran out and did some more shopping for my couch-bound wife, then picked up lunch, then...).

I'm a day late reporting, but it was dry and cold. About 34 of your yankee degrees.
Usual morning being a taxi driver - 10 year old son to soccer, 13 year old daughter to piano lesson. But then it was a day to remember. All on my ownsome i drove into London , went to an art exhibition, bought some cds and then had a fantastic meal before watching the incredible Richard Galliano in concert with Gary Burton as his special guest. Got home around midnight. I could use a few more Saturdays like this each year.

I thought it was just one of those British things. :D

BTW lest you all think that all I did was sit on the bach porch and play my 12 string, I DID do some yard work for several hours, took a shower, THEN played my 12 string. :)

I've enjoyed reading what everyone else does, (when their not at the computer posting).

The weather reports were also interesting,(saved my enough time not having to enter a lot of zip codes at weather.com. :D

Time I used trying to figure out how to post a picture.

Just got back from a quick, short get-away weekend. Chicken dinner in Frankenmuth yesterday (Cruster..you know what I'm talking about). Outlet mall shopping with the better half. Another great dinner at my favorite place... B.D.'s Mongolian Barbeque.
I got some guitar time planned after I get caught up with the OFC.

Apologies for trying to claim the sloth-title...

I'm afraid that the whole weekend has been a write-off. Yesterday, I managed to watch the rugby and do the ironing before I went back to bed, and today acheived even less.

Just appear to have eaten something that is disagreeing with me in a colourful manner! I usually do much more with my weekends, honest!

Will be fine by tomorrow, when it's all out of my system.

I refuse to eat at either of the Bavarian family-style joints in F'muth. The local nomenclature is 'come-back chicken.' As in the chicken that comes back to the kitchen comes back to the table. Every eighteen months or so, one of the local news stations will do an 'expose.' To be fair, though, I don't eat meat on a bone, as it makes me queasy. Take it off the bone and I'm fine. I just can't eat it on the bone. Weird, I know.

....worst day of my life when i put Echo down, she was 13...still don't like to think about it six years later. Only thing that works for me, is to tell myself I never would have done it (or even thought about it) unless it was the right time.

I would have to believe that a lot of us have been there, OLJ, and will be very sympathetic. I had to put ours down at 15 years and fought it all the way until I decided that he deserved better than his body was allowing him at the time.

Better days are coming your way.

My wife and daughter did the deed for me. Festus was a 16 year old Brittany that had been my hunting buddy and our first child. When a dog that used to jump 6 foot fences and could run all day got to the point were he couldn't make his back legs work, it was time.

OLJ,

Sorry to hear about your dog. I had a similar experience about 12 years ago. I know saying that doesn't make your loss any easier, just wanted to let you know we'll be thinking of you.

P.S. Let us know about the CV68.

Thanks G.G.G. It does help. The hardest part will be telling the kids. I going to pick them up tonight. They are so young and are going to be so hurt.

I did open my CV68. They sent the wrong guitar. See my other thread for more info.

Thank you all for the kind words. I am feeling better. It was so hard to say good bye.

And in Hell... you find the cats?

Had some great dogs (and cats) as family members. Our most recent old cat requires about $400 in dental work soon. I didn't win that discussion either.

Our dog had her spleen out last week, big tumor, a day away from buying it, it was noncancerous, she had ice cream today at the Dairy Queen. Finished another Telematic with a Phat Cat neck and Jerry Donahue bridge. Sounds pretty sweet. Golf tomorrow and the relatives leave in two days.

I've got about $7k invested in the knees of one of my dogs. You do what you've got to do.

But I wouldn't pay for surgery for the same dog because he ate part of my son's swim mask. He finally threw that back up.

I'll pay for what isn't his fault, but I won't pay for stupidity.

But damn, dogs are addicting. The worst thing about having a dog is realizing that you'll probably never be without a dog again.

I woke to 10" of snow. You couldn't walk your dog, but if you have a snowmobile you could give him a ride. I cleaned out driveways today.
