Eight weeks and counting.
Registration will probably start soon.
Time to beat the drums for those procrastinators out there.
So...
Who's planning on going?
Will this be your first tour?
What are you bringing?
.
Second tour for me.
I'll bring my AD-II, Breadwinner & uke.
Since we have that meeting room maybe we could use my Acoustisonic Jr.

Me.
No.
Thinking about bringing the 1581. AA says they're 'musician friendly'. Will an OHSC fit in an overhead?

Waffling!
Just hard to spend $1k on a weekend when the house needs so much and the kids need military school.

I'll buy a Lotto ticket this weekend and see what happens!

If I show it will be with a Custom 12 string and a Papoose.

I made my reservations earlier this week for my first Tour and will be there dragging my 1616 with me for anyone to play with if they're so inclined.

If all goes as planned, I'll be there for my first OFC Tour.

At the tour I'll be picking up my 1537 from it's reburbishing by the factory. I'll also bring my 1619 which I should be getting back from the factory real soon. They've had it since the beginning of January. Looks like the factory is very busy with repairs. I'm looking forward to to seeing it.

$1k? Michael, I just checked priceline - you can get a round trip leaving Wednesday night and returning Sunday for $259 - $50 cheaper than mine, and I booked 2 months ago...

Waskel,
I have a copy of a letter at home written by the head of that federal security outfit that used to do searches at all the airports. I think it was TSA. Anyway he says that musical instruments can be carried on if they fit in the overhead compartment. Most guitars do. I got it off some website, which I'll post this weekend if I remember.

I'm not sure the OHSC will fit in the overhead. I was recently on a JetBlue flight and one passenger brought on board two electric guitars, but they were both in gig bags. My guess is that the OHSC will be too big.

An OHSC for an Artist (one of the brown cases) fit fine in the overhead on 2 Southwest flights coming back from Phoenix last week. The smaller case with the wooden roundback in it fit even easier in the overheads on the 2 Southwest flights going down.
Southwest doesn't assign seats, but we got in the first boarding group except for one leg of the flights back. I went toward the back of the plane, put the case in an empty bin and people packed several other items around it. I got a few scowls when I was carrying it on and off, but no other problems. Three of the four flights were full. I hope that helps, if you can compare the type of plane Southwest uses with whatever anyone else will be flying.

I'm coming for the third time...I can't decide if I should bring my Pacemaker or my '97 Collectors. They're sort of at opposite ends of the spectrum. When we get to passing our guitars around, I wonder which one folks would rather get their hands on? John <>{

Wasn't planning on it 'cause of new job and moving etc. Mentioned it for the first time to my wife when I got the OFC CD from Witco. She said I should think about it, depending on what is needed at work. Got a bit excited and checked on flights, etc.

Got a call last Friday and my Mom was admitted to Moffitt Cancer Institute in Tampa for chemo therapy to battle lukemia.

Take lots of pics and recordings. I'll participate after the fact. Maybe next year.

Same here, Blue. While we were in Africa we got a call that my mom (in nursing care w/alzheimers) had several strokes. Now we're just waiting for the other call.

We'll record everything we can (especially with the asian photo & pharmacutical dude coming).

Really sorry about your situation.

Cool, just talked to American Airlines. All my flights are on MD Super 80's, which have the oversized overheads. "You should have no trouble fitting your hardshell case into the overhead. If for any reason you do, the flight crew would be happy to stow it in a closet". What nice people. :D

I'll be bringing the 1581.

Blue, I also am sorry to hear about your Mom.

I am booked at the hotel for Thurs and Fri Night.Hoping to bring my Adamas 12 string if it will fit in the Viper but I'm bringing a passenger so I have to see if it'll squeeze in the hatch. If not maybe take my daughters First Act? I dont think my truck will make the drive so gotta squeeze in on this one.

You are the "wabbit behind the curtain" on this one. I waffled for a while but after spending last night in an Irish Pub drinking Guiness and hearing at least four renditions of "Finnagin's Wake" it was all clear to me!

BTW - My Wife and I ended up having great conversations with a Pilot from Australia and a 6"5" Woman from Germany! How can I not get to see the world?

I went via Expedia Dot Calm and pulled off a Round trip for under $280.

I will deal with the overbooked flights later!

Woodman, if you went with one of the redeye flights there's usually later flights to get bumped to. Act politely outraged yet cooperative and you'll most likely get a voucher for a free flight as well.

Sounds like I need to get out more often. Perhaps if I fall asleep listening to Monty Python's "Argument" skit I'll be ready!!!

I booked an 11:30 pm out of Seattle Wednesday night. I may need to bargain on the 06:10 return Sunday.

Ohhh man that sure puts the sillyness we all partake in each day into perspective now don't it!
Hang in there C and keep the faith man. The Hospitals are good with this stuff nowadays.
And as for the good thoughts your way we can do better than that... If I am not mistaken we have a bunch a guy's who can sing and play this praise stuff pretty good in this group!
Crank it up to "ten" boys lets see if anyones home!

I plan to go myself this year but this sure lets ya know "plans" are a luxury.

Cruster,
You get all of that except the bribes, I've got nothing to trade I wasn't already given. May you and your family come out of this alright.

One reason I want to make it to the Tour this year is because of the whole "plans" thing. we don't know what tomorrow brings and if we can celebrate and share today that can be a good thing.

There are a handfull of previous posters out there that have gone silent. I can easily forget how blessed I am to be able to sit down and share with you guys when I should be practicing.

So it's Christmas tunes to record (on the Pocket studio Crusty loaned me!) and Celtic Drinking tunes for the Tour Jam!

Keep the faith, Crusty. You're not alone here. Your wife and family (oh, and you) will be in many prayers.

We'll miss you (well, we'll miss meeting you). We'll make available everything fit to see & hear, and keep the rest for when we need favors...

Thanks for the well wishes; we'll make it through, always do. A repeat of 2004's performance is not going to be fun, though. Hopefully, we won't go down that road. Ah well, that's why G-d invented guitars, booze and blues, right?

Well folks it looks as if the wife I will not make it this year, unless a miracle happens which it can because God is good. We had to buy a mattress and I could not believe the price. I suppose we could have stole one from the hotel but that would have been wrong. So hopefully next year have lots of fun.

Looks like I may not be able to make it. My training period at the new job continues, and it doesn't look like i'll have any type of vacation time saved up to go. This really sucks and bums me out. Unless something changes i'll have to enjoy all the pictures.

I had enough to drink last night to make the decision. I'll be there.

Well, I think it's official. Barring any unforseen miracles, looks like I'm out this year. :( I was really looking forward to it, but the heart attack put me behind in too many ways.

This years tour seems like it will be the best ever, I know you will all have a great time. So, please play some guitars for me and drink a beer (or three) for me.

Good Lord willin, and the dam don't break, I'll see you all next year.

Steve

Dizzy,
Sorry to hear you're not gonna make it. You are one of the few I actually want to meet.

This will be my 3rd visit to the Mothership. Haven't decided which O, I should bring. Looking forward to meeting the new folks and seeing the old folks. I find it amazing that no one gets lost in the wagon train from the hotel to the factory, in the morning.

If you're following Rick in the van, it could be easy to get left behind.

If you're riding in the van with Rick, you may wonder if you have your affairs in order...
