Was just thinking of all the chat in this forum 1-2 years ago about the GP solidbodies. Seems to have gone very silent recently. Is the air out of that balloon ???

I was just talking about them with a guy that was impressed with my GS. He seemed like a heavy metal guy, but hadn't heard of Josh whoever or Queens of the Stone Age. Anyway he just bought a GS off ebay.
I suspect Josh was a passing fancy that drove the values up and whoever had one for sale had better sell it before the price dives. I did see an Eastwood copy on ebay recently, but they aren't ebay regulars anymore either.

I about a month, when I get home I'll tell you what I think of the GS. As I write one is going to my home. :D

I like my Ultra GS, it's a sweet rig. The guitar reminds me of a strat, but with a single pickup. Good balance and stays in tune. The old viper is still probably my favorite solid body.

Not much call for talk when so few have 'em, and so few are put up for sale. In the 4 months I've been following Ovation electrics on Ebay, exactly one GP has been for sale (not counting Eastwood tributes), and that was last night. The guy didn't know what he was selling. There was one bid. I was about to bid. Apparenly, someone talked him into cancelling the auction and selling direct. Turns out his reserve was $200. Finish looked a bit dull, but, maybe could have been buffed out.

I was wondering if anyone but me would see that one. Then I started thinking about the usual, "How much trouble will I get into if I buy it," versus "How can I pass up that deal?"

I guess he pulled it last night after getting clued in by a correspondent. Now, he's in la la land at $2,500, as if it were a perfect example, and not already an over-inflated market (if, in fact, it's still that hot).
