My Ovation Ultra fell over the other day after being attacked by an over aggressive vacuam cleaner (or operator). Cracked the heel piece.

I'm not generally handy with building things, but thought I might try to fix my neck on my own if it simply a matter of gluing and bracing.

Can anyone offer some tips to help me along here?

I'd look at guitar player repair guide by dan erliwine. Never did such a repair myself. You can get it on ebay for $20 US or less. A must for your book shelf.

the photo upload utility is still offline ... perhaps a fellow OFCer can allow the pictures to be e-mailed, then post it in gitrman's behalf?

Thanks for your interest.

I use Macs and I was wondering everytime I tried to post the pictures and got error messages. Thought maybe it was just an incompatiblity issue with Macs. Thanks for the clarification.

I emailed a couple pictures. Hope this helps. thanks again

I'm never leaving my guitars on stands again. Hope my wife doesn't knock them off the wall.

Owwwch!

That one looks hard.
If SWMBO was the vacuum Operator I would seize the moment (pronounced guilt trip) and justify the purchase of new/used Ovation.

If you were the Operator I would mope around the house, unbathed and lost until she says "Why don't you replace it".

Epoxy does wonders, might be salvageable.

And may I suggest a wall hanger as well!

Those pictures got me thinking. The last couple of guitars had hangers waiting for them before they arrived, so they spent very little time in the stands. I have 3 stands set up all the time, however and noticed awhile ago that one of them was seriously bent. I asked my wife about it (she is the only other person in the house except during holidays) and she denied any knowledge or responsibility. I may have to take the TV and all her aerobics tapes out of that room and set them up somewhere else. That will piss her off.

Hey Gitrman,
You should check-out WilliamFriggle's 1777LX in the for sale section as a possible replacement for your busted Celeb.
