Location: Seattle Tacoma Washington | I just have one quick question on the 2005 collector. I got mine in the mail today, and the finish seems a little thinner than on some of my other Ovations. I was wondering it maybe there was a varnish on this or is it the regular whatever it is. Thanks!! :p :p |

Location: NW NJ | I'm no acoustic engineer, but I've always felt like the thinner the finish = more freedom for the top to vibrate. I believe (right or wrong) that this is the reason the Elite T series guitars that are finished with bowl paint (pewter, black and red) sound so amazing, especially for the price. That is also why I don't want a pickguard on my acoustic guitar tops - just something else to restrict the top vibration. |

The thinner the better. |

Location: Kirkland, WA | For years I said I would never own and Ovation, then last year I played the 2005 Collector's and it came home. It been a great traveling companion including a trip to Hawaii last summer. Now I know why. Its got great resonating tone unplugged and comes to life through my SWR California and Stawberry Blonde amps. I realy enjoy it. |

Location: Seattle Tacoma Washington | Thanks! Thinner is Better!! The 2005 made it's debut this morning at church. I got many compliments on my playing, but I don't know if they figured out I was playing a different guitar. Anyway this thing is really easy to play, and a pleasure to hammer away on. I can't wait to see how it opens up in a couple of years. Play on, Pray for Peace!!!!! |
