Location: northern vermont | Hi folks, I have a 1621-4 with ser. #6832. I want to know what finnish was used on it? Also can I still buy a bridge for it? |

The finish used is a Polyurethane. Tough but difficult to repair once damaged.
Ovation Customer Service should have a replacement bridge as well as repair services for your instrument. |

kb1, something to beware of, if the top is damaged due to exposure to heat you better get a mirror and check inside. The braces could have also come un-stuck. The horse never planned on you exposing the thing to high temps. Good luck, and I hope it turns out OK.

Location: Upper Left USA | I believe Bill said Polly-your-a-thing at one time. Cyano- is the prefix for Super Glue.
I know that Ovation finish is a Poly-epoxy. Once joined forever solid. |

Location: northern vermont | Thanks folks, I bought it cheap. And yes, I looked at the inside first thing, All ok in there. One more question, did they finnish the top before, or after the bridge was set? You've helped...

Location: Snellville, GA | The way I've seen it through pictures is the top is finished and then the bridge position is routed out. |

Location: SoCal | I think, but could be wrong, that the routing of the bridge area is fairly recent with the advent of cad cam equipment. I think older guitars have the bridge glued to the finish on the top. |
