3 1/4" instrument cables
2 sets Adamas 1818 strings
DI box + adapter (in case battery runs out and no phantom)
2 batteries (dead)

1 roll electrical tape (black)
3 pens from various software VARS
Chapstick
Small stack of unfiled lead sheets
Digitech RPX-400 effects pedal
I keep my Multi-tool, multi-head screwdriver with me at all times. If I put it in my gig bag I have to go hunt for it when I need it. Inconvienient when at work ("Hey, I need my Leatherman for this. Gonna run home and get it out of my gig bag - back in 2 hours...").
Uh, Michael? What's the difference between your 2 each 20' 1/4" cables and your 1 each Instrument cable?
...and do you use the chorus with your 12's? I always felt 12's kinda provided thier own. |

I meant an XLR, mic cable.
The chorus was used to soften the Papoose Peizo problem which has been cured by enlisting the Acoustasonic Jr DSP.
On some songs a little change of tone can be nice. Not a lot, just a touch.
Let me also add:
small black tie wraps
Alaska pics (no longer used)
2 thumb picks
more lint |

1 Dunlop Trigger Capo
2 3rd Hand adjustable partial capos (for "open tuned" effects)
1 glass slide (Coricidan bottle style)
1 Yellow and Black Flame strap which goes well with a blonde finish Ovation and the black and white rosette
12 38mm Dunlop extra-light nylon picks
12 46mm Dunlop light nylon picks
2 Cut-off yellow Fred Kelly thumbicks with velcro strips mounted on the bottom. One is for mounting 38mm Dunlop picks (with velcro installed) and the other is for mounting 46mm Dunlop picks
12 Fred Kelly thumbpicks (intact)
1 green Dunlop string winder
Clear plastic toothpick jar with assorted Fender picks I never use (this is in case a fellow picker needs help)
1 Black rubber beetle in a clear plastic ring box, a "lucky charm" given to me 15 years ago by my son (who was then 5 years old). He got it out of a gumball machine and said, "Here, Dad. This is your lucky beetle. As long as you have this, you'll always play good." I've carried it ever since (I think it was a 5 year old's homage to John, Paul, George and Ringo).
1 Tuning fork in "A"
GIG BAG (a Swiss Army bag with numerous pockets; small and compact, but carries a boatload of stuff)
1 harmonica rack (usually with a G harp in it)
7 assorted harmonicas (G, A, C (2 of these), D, AND E)
1 Zoom acoustic guitar processor/tuner
1 Zoom MRT3B drum machine
Clamp-on music stand lamp
6 replacement bulbs for above lamp
Power supply for Zoom boxes
2 15' 1/4" guitar cords (Monster Cable)
2 15' XLR mic cords
2 15' 1/4" (Hi Z) mic cords
Guitar Tool kit (needle nose, diagonal cutters, small Phillips and small slot head screwdrivers,1/4" socket driver, hex wrenches, string winder)
6 9 volt batteries
8 AA batteries
1 extra guitar strap
1 Shure SM 58 mic
1 Audio Technika ball mic
1 Nady Ball mic
1 Tascam ball mic
Big white looseleaf binder with lead sheets in protective sleeves; these are alphabetized by song title (There are about 150 songs in there, which don't count the other hundred or so I know by heart) For use with conventional music stand
150 loose lead sheets printed landscape style to go on slick little 9 X 12 music stand that clamps onto your mic stand. Much cooler than a big old clunky music stand.
6 sets of D'addario light gauge phosphor bronze strings
Extra G strings |

No, just kidding. However, I did play with a band that was marketing a CD at gigs (recorded before I joined), and people did want it autographed. When I told them I wasn't on it, they didn't care, citing that I might be famous one day. So I shrugged and signed. |

Location: cincinnati, ohio | Actually, we had a guy show up without his guitar last week. He brought his gig bag, all his gear, and his guitar case-- which was empty! We were like, "Uhhh, didn't you notice the difference in the weight?" He thought somebody STOLE it, but a call to his wife confirmed that it was sitting on a guitar stand in the living room. |

Actually, neither, though my wife thinks I have an OGD (Obsesive Guitar Disorder...)
As for bags, mine is just an old backpack - I just have a lot of stuff in it. When you are leading a band that performs on a weekly basis, you find needs for a ton of stuff. If I had an on-site storage with some sort of organizer, I wouldn't carry as much stuff, but then, that's why they call it a "Gig Bag." |

Mine's just about the size of a backpack-- it's a Swiss Army bag with a shoulder strap and lots of compartments, and you can get a LOT of stuff in it. Ever seen one of those gag movies where somebody throws a suitcase on the bed in a hotel room, then starts pulling out clothes, a set of golf clubs, a kitchen sink, an extension ladder, etc., etc.? It's kinda like that..... |
