I seem to recall someone having purchased one of these a while back. It seems a great way to record stereo acoustic guitar without the hassle of getting a matched set of mics.
Does anyone own this mic?

Location: closely held secret | Sorry, not me. Seems like someone around here would have. Rode's are great mics. Plus I've always loved the way they start thier model numbers with "NT". |

Location: Scotland | I do the same thing with a pair of NT3's. X/Y or coincident pair mike placement is a foolproof way to record in stereo and works great with acoustic guitars. Just place the mikes about 18 to 24 inches in front of the guitar aimed between the bridge and soundhole or at the 12th/14th fret. Never fails.
While the NT4 is a great mike, a pair of identical condensers is a more versatile set-up. X/Y recording is a very forgiving technique and it's not necessary that the mikes are "matched". As long as they are same make and model it works fine. |

or did you try one out and decide the NT3's sounded better and were more versatile |

Location: Scotland | I had a couple on loan from the distibutor. They're great, but I'd just laid out a lump on a couple of AKG414's so I declined, even at wholesale. |
