No... It doesn't exist yet. It *should be* very much like the #47 reissue, except in the orginal -8 (lighter blue), and have some sort of electronics on board, and several of us have asked for a wide neck. It would simply be the original slothead re-issuse that the OFC voted on, except none of us can agree on the details.....

As far as the price goes, if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it :D I bet it's less then the Martin custom-shop would charge for an exact replica of a pre-war guitar.

That OFC-5 sure is perdy and get's my vote. But then, so are the -7 & -8....so many choices, so little cash... :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought only the Adamas II reissue had the snotblob pickguard and the that 47 and Adamas I reissues would have no snotblob. The photos of 47 reissue are actually photos of the original, hence the SB in the pics. Is this correct? God I hope the 47 reissue is sans blob. Dave

Well I'm hoping my #47 arrives snotblob free but I'm sure I've seen pics of the 1687 RI at recent trade shows and I believe it was sporting a snotblob.

I say no to snotblobs, but the #47 may end up with one in the interests of historical accuracy.

I like the traditional bridge construction, one that actually lets the saddle sit in the Bridge pocket, and not directly on the guitar top, like current production LX's. I feel that the string energy is being utilized fully. The bridge is used to actually disperse the load more, across a larger section of the top. allowing more top (pump) action. and not just to terminate the ends of the strings.

Those are all 14 fretters. I thought you all wanted 12's?

I think a nice pair would be the following:

a) red #47, standard neck, acoustic only

b) blue OFC, 12 fret cutaway, wideneck, OP Pro

I could definately see those sitting side by side in my house. BTW, the house would be plenty empty because my wife would have moved out and left me.

Dave, if they were sitting side by side in your house, you would still have money left over from the $10,000 one that got away!

Wrong. Half of my $10k "savings" has already been spent on other stuff.
