Location: Phoenix AZ | Let's have some fun with Al's blood pressure. Configure your own NFW Guitar!!!
Note - The NFW is in NO WAY connected with what the OFC guitar will or will not be. And I'm not trying to give Al any grief, because he's been really great about this project for the last 16 months. I just wanted to have a little FUN. |

| I would love to see a slothead Adamas (or Elite?) with spruce natural (sunburst is fine too!) top, carved binding and bridge, walnut fingerboard with 1 3/4 " nut width...... :) |

I've got a good excuse. 8:00 flight to New York, then on to Europe. As far as Waskel, I think he's just trying to beat the rain or practice for tomorrow when the clocks change. Dave

1. $30,000
2. $3,000
3. $1,599
4. $995
5. $549
6. under $200
Let's see, what's it gonna be.... |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Maybe the guitar should come unpainted and we could just each paint our own. I'd do a big red and white number '3' in honor of Dale Ernhardt.
Actually I've always wondered if they could do a sunburst on a textured adamas top. The wood ones like my Custom Legend and 1537 look so good. I wonder if they could and how it would turn out. Not sure I'd be willing to experiment on a $5000. guitar.

1) sunburst was already tried and it looked like crap.
2) you think it's a good idea but you know that nobody will listen.

Location: Upper Left USA | This board is too democratic to make any decisions. You need to elect someone to take the heat for all of the "wrong" decisions that are made. It's how real govmint works!
BTW - Thanks Al!
I chose this year to bypass the unknowns and to just order a Custom that I could appreciate and (nearly) afford. I got tired of hearing what Ovation was willing to release in the line of updates, or not.
I am happy with what I got.
Here's to next year! |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Interesting trends so far:
Modern electronics preferred 2:1 over 2 knobber.
Contour Bowl preferred over deep bowl.
12 fret preferred 2:1 over 14 fret.
Wide neck preferred over standard.
Fun to dream and consider the possibilities ... |

The 12 fret Koa wit a litle more bling
The #47 with elctronics.
It's like choosing between your Sister in-law and your Wife's best friend! How do you do that? |

Location: south east Michigan | Hmmm....22 spec out a blowhole but 26 want a blowhole trimmed in abalone. We'll just chalk it up to a statistical aboration.
I would think the combination of a 12 fret and a cut-away would go together like peas & carrots.
I'm glad to say that if this poll decided the final form of the guitar I would be just fine with it. The only catagory where I differ is the body binding.
Question for Dave...Why didn't you list the VIP (a.k.a. Studio) pre-amp? |

To paraphrase a wise, unnamed OFC wife...
"We're just a bunch of monkeys discussing the finer points of bananas."
In fact...I think we should adopt that phrase as our club motto. |
