It said the model number is 1713
Honestly, I never see this model before.
I personally love it a lot !
Except Blue Adamas Nylon that Mike own, this is the best O+A nylon I have ever seen. I wish I can trade my 6773LX with this one.
Such a real beauty for nylon string guitar. . . .
slothead + adamas II inlay + Deep bowl + Epaulet + well craft decor.
Would love to hear how it sound.
Any historical guide about this model would be great. |

I was at Guitar Center yesterday and they have a near mint 1713 for sale. They must have taken it as a trade. I was going to post about it.
The one at GC, looks like the ovation site pic. I have never seen one like that. |

| This is so beautiful!!!!
http://www.blue-g.com/ is one of the best stores in Japan. They have a huge inventory of Martins, Gibsons, Collings, Ovations and Adamas and many other smaller luthiers. |

Location: SoCal | It also has Adamas 2 inlays and while it looks like it was built in the early 80's, I'd bet it was actually built in the early 90's. It's got that red strip in the binding that was used later, and it also has later electronics (it could have been upgraded later tho').
I wonder about the sound. As good as it looks (and it is beautiful) I'd like to play it before I proclaim it to be a great guitar. Seems to me that the Elite configuration isn't driven hard enough by nylon strings to get a good sound. Hasn't there been discussion on this before? If it sounded as good as it looked, wouldn't have Ovation made it a production model? |

I agree that we shouldn't jump into it without testing it just becoz it looks great.
However, look is so important to me when buying guitar.
I can ignor the good sound one and go for the beauty one with OK sound instead. I give Ovation a good credit and just believe that it should have at least OK sound (acceptable unplug sound).
How many percent of the look and the sound you guy weight in your mind when you decide to buy G ?
Sound 70% / Look 30% ?
or
S50 / L50 ?
or
S30% / L70% ?
I know that good guitar should have a good looking and nice sound....but I ussually don't have many chances to choose or test many G before buying.
Just a discussion. |

I didn't buy it. Someone in Japan 'hold' it I guess. |

| "The Blue Adamas Nylon that Mike Ownes" ??
Which Mike?
Could we please see a photo of this guitar as well??
I have always been curious about a classical with the multi holes. It has always been a topic of debate; just how well those nylons strings will move a carbon/graphite top?
I know for a fact they work real well on cedar!

My theory: Multihole guitars sound bad enough to begin with. Why make it worse by putting nylon strings on one ... |

Never try neither blue one nor 1713 cedar, so i have no idea how it sound.
But they both look excellent to me. |

| Interesting. Is the bridge modified for nylon strings? and is the headstock slotted? Or is this a standard Adamas with Nylon Strings on it? Very nice guitar...So what does it sound like with the nylons??? IF you have one, please end the "wondering" for me will ya?? I clicked on your web site and did not see this one woth the Adamas nor the 6 string galleries??

Location: SoCal | I would love to own the nylon string Adamas Country Artist. But it would be because it was built for Glen Campbell, and I have a ton of video from him music show in the early 80's with him playing it. It's a good guitar plugged in, but not very good unplugged. It's a stage guitar.
I speak from experience as I've played it on a number of differnt occassions. Unfortunately, none of Glen's mojo wore off on me.
My 1773LX is a much better all around nylon string --- great acoustic sound and great plugged in. |

I gave PlayAdamas a set of the Savarez 520P1's for the GC Classical Proto. We actually put them on the GC proto outside a Starbucks, so It was kind of hard to hear the nuances, but the thing was LOUD. My 1763 favors high tension strings and rings for days with these. I offered a set to Fugot in exchange for visitation rights to his Adamas Woodtop Classical. |

| OK Can I ask who's guitar this is?? Or ...Where is it???? I have never seen a slothead Adamas that was not original to the early ones and I have not seen one with Nylon Stings? Very interesting to me.
Also
I find It easier to picture everyone with Nylons, Garter's & Heels! That way I can laugh at the Men and fantasize about the Women at the same time! Although I have a feeling Cliff may actually look quite good like this. Now I am so confused!
BEt this one ends this thread!!!
