Total impulse buy. I have no freaking idea what this is. I just read "adamas new, textured top, acoustic only, wide neck, ..." and my mouse automatically gravitated to the BIN button like a freaking ouiji board. God help me.

Location: Phoenix AZ | Just a guess, but even though the seller said it was a "deep" bowl, maybe W581 is MIDd depth and W681 is deep. Adamas uses "5" to designate mid depth on other models like W597, Q597, etc. and uses 6 to designate deep bowls, 1681, 1687, 1680, etc. We'll see when it gets here. Actualy mid-depth might be kind of cool. Dave |

Maybe W581 is wide neck and W681 is standard. I don't know. Other than the neck widths they seem identical. Can't wait to get it and find out what the hell I've got. I do have a feeling I'm going to like it. Dave |

The eBay listing was clearly in error. The sticker inside the guitar says W681-TA, not 581. So this is identical to the ones on Al's site except it is acoustic only, hence the TA instead of just T. But a bigger issue that I'm quite disappointed about is that the neck is standard 1-11/16 width and NOT a wide neck 1-3/4 as it said on eBay. I only bought it because it was a wide neck. I've emailed the seller to politely complain about the errors in the listing.
But here's the kicker, the seller has 100% feedback and I'm sure will take the guitar back and refund my money. HOWEVER, this is just about the nicest sounding Adamas I have ever heard! Definately better than the Adamas II's that I have, even better than the cutaway 1581 canon. Maybe becaue it's acoustic only, I don't know. But the freaking thing sounds like a million bucks and I got it for what I would consider a very good deal. So I don't know WHAT to do. Although I guess it's a pretty nice problem to have.

REVIEW: It just sounds amazing. If anything it sounds like the U681, but in a standard neck width and 14 fret. The neck has the black center strip like the newer adamas and the tuners are Schaller gold with ebony buttons. Ebony fingerboard with very classy Adamas I inlays and an ebony bridge. Deep bowl of course. Set up is perfect and the damn thing just rings and rings. It's sitting 10 feet away from me and every keystroke on this computer keyboard I can hear a reverberation from the soundboard of the guitar. Just beautiful.
