Location: Paris/France | Last week end was the annual "Guitars Picker's Association" gathering in Alsace (east of France).
Some french OFCer's were there like Tom, Rémy, Edouard, Arnaud, François etc... and we were so happy to welcome Karl from Germany for the first time.
Of course, we had a thought for you all and especially for Al... ;)
It was a great week end with lots of O's and A's and music and fun!!
Now, we have to wait 12 month till the next edition... :(

Jerome, who are the other fellows holding the O's and A's? You've definitely got an Ovation get-together going on there....
Looks like a great time was had by all.

| Ya gotta love seeing Al on a tee shirt in another country!
I also wonder how many Taylor owners do gatherings like this?
Way to go everyone! Great photo's. |

They brew some great beer in Alsace.
Guitars and Beer... the making of a great time. Only one thing missing from that equation.... |

| Well Jeff looks like the answer to how many taylor owners would do something like this, is........Two. But I'll bet they own an Ovation as well, so this does not count for as much.

I've put the names on the picture below but unfortunately Tom is not on the pics.
He's usually very busy during the week end because he's one of the member of the staff whom organize that great event.
I'm sure that you can imagine what for a work it is to satisfy more than 50 guitarists for 2 days...
Steve, there's more pics of the Adamas "Lavanderburst" ON THIS PAGE.
It's a wide neck and the color is very nice to my eyes.
Joel who was the first owner of this model loves the special colors and his next Adamas model to come will be more "colored"!!! ;)
The O's are not as popular now as 20 years ago but we still some fans to continue to believe in the Kaman's family genius and we're sure to be right even if most of the others only wants a new Taylor...

He's in the middle of the group on the 4th.
He's better every year and I'm sure thet he will be a great guitar player in the future.
He was kind enough to write a song for me and to dedicated it to me when he was on stage during the evening.
Here's a pics of him with my Custom Order in hands.
I'm still have 4 copies of his first CD made when he was only 15 and I'd be glad to send one for free to the 4 first people who wants one.

| Jerome, If you don't mind my asking.... what is the guitar that Remy is holding? And it is good to see these great guitars still have a core group from all over the world who understand their amazing qualities. |

It's a very special one with a wide neck and double epaulets like on Marcel Dadi's guitars.
There's some goods pictures and specs ON THIS PAGE.

Location: Cicero, NY | And, for anyone interested, Byron is a hugely talented young player who's fingerstyle playing on his disc, at 15! as Jerome pointed out, is very good. If you'd like to hear some great playing, grab a disc from Jerome. It's really great stuff. |

| Have never seen that color on a guitar. Interesting! I love the uniqueness but not sure if I could chose that over those great reverse colors we are all used to. I have just ordered two custom adamas's one as a baritone with a slightly wider neck in the Red and the other is a 1587-7 in the original #7 color. Just could not go for any crazy custom colors. Did not have the courage. Wish I had noticed those double full size epaulets before, I do like the look. Might have gone that way.
Nice group you got there! Hows the cover working out? did it end up to high for the slothead stringing set up ? |

Location: Angoulême - France | It was a fantastic week-end with my friends, thanks Tom (and your staff) for those moments, great to share music and lough around guitars and O's stories, pleased to meet Karl there too...!!! The custom order ? Great great sounding guitar ! It's a 12 cases cutaway with deep bowl and double large epaulets (to allow a bigger soudhole surface as a non cutaway), acoustically it seems to be a good combination (12 cases-Deep Bowl-Double epaulets), wide neck 1 7/8", they made especially a unique bone OCP-1 saddle, the walnut neck is handmade and so great (low c profile as FD14 but more flat), the color could be named "spruce like", I love to play on this guitar, it sounds warm, rich, deep, clear and loud, isn't it Karl ?

Location: Germany | Indeed, it was a great weekend! Despite of my limited French skills (well, to be perfectly honest: I don´t speak one word) I was completely integrated in this wonderful group of guitar freaks. It was not announced as an OFC gathering but I was surprised how many members were there. You can be sure that they are veeeery kind guys!
A special thanks to Tom how was a co-organizer of this weekend. And I was very happy to meet my friend Jerome again. We both are hardcore Beatles fans and so we tried to play some of their best tunes together. It was lot of fun!
I was very impressed by Remy´s custom Dadi guitar. Due to the flat neck profile and the real wide-neck it is one of the best (if not the best) playable guitars I ever had in hands. Ditto the sound. We had a lot of great Os and As there, but to my ears it was the best sounding one. Congrats to that guitar, Remy!
Last but not least thanks to Edouard whom I also can call a friend now. We had some good conversations and he gave me interesting insights into the French soul.

It was nice to meet you here !
Edouard, who is sitting near you, is playing a very fine SSB cutaway Adamas belonging to Patrick Wagner, president of Guitar Pickers Association. This one has a low C profile, wide neck very close to Remy's guitar, which is a fantastic custom order too, one of the best and very confortable neck i ever played (not speaking of Remy's custom neck settings ...).
All the best |

Location: Paris/France | I've had a kind reply from Joël so here's the story of the "purple":
That guitar was ordered in 2000 and his first wish was to get an Adamas in purple with a Folklore neck so the Factory has done the job.
Unfortunately, 2 month after, the fretboard was lifting and the guitar was impossible to keep in tune... :(
After 2 trips from France to the Factory, they finally decided to put an Adamas I wide Neck with an ebony fretboard.
Joël sent me some pics of him with the first version that instrument equiped with the Folklore neck.
I hope that my translation of Joël's words is good enough to understand the story. ;)
I've had the pleasure to play that guitar and it's a very good one!! If only I had enough money when he sold it some years ago... :D

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I received my CD of Bryon today and I can not say enough good things about it...what a fantastic collection of original fingerstyle guitar...so soulful and soothing...and the fact that he was only 15 when this was recorded in 2005...I can only imagine how he has progressed in the last three years...Thanks so much Jerome! It will be in the rotation of my cd changer on my vacation coming up next week. |
