Hi. Does anyone know anything about the Bicentennial edition O? A friend of mine has one and is looking to find out how much it would go for... He knows they only made 1776 of them. Sounds collectable to me...

Thanks,
JT

Welcome!

There are several that can chime in with their stories about their "76'ers". Look in the Galleries as well. One every 2-3 weeks show up on ebay for a market analisys but condition and sometimes the serial numbers have a lot to do with end cost.

What is the serial number?

Having bought and sold several of these, my opinion is that the value really depends on what a buyer is willing to pay. They are far from the rarest of Ovation collectables, and show up on eBay regularly. I have seen them go from less than $400, to much more. It depends on the condition, how much of the original documentation is still with it, and whether the case is original and in good shape.

The real collectable one is the John Lennon version which instead of the 1776-1976 painted logo on the top, has painted the Union Jack with a marijuana leaf over it.

NOOO. that guitar does not really exist. But it would be pretty COOL, wouldn't it ???

Other than cosmetics, sonically is the Patriot guitar and the Legend Limited 1651 the same guitar (soundboard, bracing, etc) ???

He was thinking about asking $400. Seems like everyone thinks that's the low end of what he could get? Serial number is in the teens; not sure of the number exactly. Case and guitar look in good shape to me...

Try posting it in the Sell/Trade section if you haven't already.
