Anyone out there good with electronics? The OP-Pro came with a 1/4" jack, or both a 1/4" jack AND an XLR. Mine only has the 1/4". I know the pickup and pre-amp are the same, so is it possible to just add a jack and a few wires, or is it more involved than that. I sure would like to be able to plug this straight into the console without a direct box.

Yep, it's possible, but you need one of these from the factory to replace the 1/4" jack.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. Can you tell me what that's called, or maybe give me a part number so I know what to ask for?

The technical term is the "XLR/1/4" Circuit board thingy".

Call John or Kim. They speak fluent OFC!

Thanks for the official terminology. LOL. I'm a newbie here(despite playing Ovation for over 25 years), do you guys type your guitars in after every post, or is there a way to have it done automatically after you are done typing?

Welcome Padwan!

First OFC secret:
Go to the bottom of the page and click the "Ovation Fan club" link between "Contact Us" and Privacy Statement". This is the preferred view. Bookmark it.

Next:
Update your Profile - link at the top of the page. Write down your password. I like to email my passwords to myself and put them in a folder.

Enjoy!

For some members this would take a long time. :)

For the rest of us, not all that long. :(

Thingy is a technical term used by a lot of us.

BTW, Welcome to The OFC. :D
