I see there are two types, a regular rotory tool with lot's of attachments, and a specialized engraver. The rotary looks more useful, but can you use it for engraving? |

Maybe throw a little CWK II in there for future posts! |

If you made a mark of two stars with a certain color ink (I wouldn't use black - use something more unique), for example, and you either remember that or make a note of it in your household records somewhere, I'm sure that would hold up to prove it was your property.
I also wouldn't mark the hatch door. I wouldn't put a mark anywhere that a person could easily see. |

| Whatever happened to putting the guitar's serial number on your home owner's insurance? |

For marking, I'd want something that would help the honest  pawnbroker or police find me, phone number or ??? |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I like the Sharpie marker idea. I never really thought about that before. You could just open the access hole and write your name and what ever else you want on the underside of the top. I can just imagine a pawn shop owner or some guitar shop checking out the inside if the thing with a mirror and finding the secret message (:
I'd much rather do that then take an engraver or anything like that to a guitar. The Sharpie on bare wood would probably stay there forever. |
