Ok, let's figure out when and where...

Looks like we're shooting for Tuesday the 9th - now where?

How about a quick roll call of who might like to show up and where everyone is from? And what time of day that everyone is available?

Sally - from Castle Rock - and I can make time to goof off almost any time except Thursday -Saturday nights (darn work does get in the way sometimes).

You guys can email me at: bono AT satorri.com

Once a week I go to Broomfield and I could arrange to do that on Tuesday. I'm game to go up to Pablo's coffee in Denver if that works out for everyone else. If the weather is nice, we might have some outdoor seating options up there - There are some outdoor tables at Pablos - and there is a patio area at Angelo's Pizza (I'd just want to call to see if they would object - but I'm guessing if we went during a quieter time (mid afternoon or maybe after 8pm) they wouldn't mind at all.

My vote is for late afternoon - let's say 4PM or so. How about you guys?

Sally, sadly they are the local OFC layabouts.

Have no function in life but to hijack threads and play guitars. You have just met 3 of the worst.

I'm thinking Tuesday would work for me. Anytime from 4:00 on. Pizza at Angelos would be cool.

28 and Sally - I'm booked in Castle Rock until 6:30ish - then can come back home up north or stop in Denver on the way - or hang out by that big weird rock down south...evenings are better for me - and sunday afternoons....

Schroeder - head on over to Heathrow - we'll be there - just wait for us...

28 - bring the 1537 - that model has a storied history with my acquisition of my slothead...

Sally - it's still in your court

EA, I sold the 1537....it was just delivered today to a joyous lad in Portland Oregon. However, I do have the 1547, which is the cutaway version of the 1537 that I will be happy to bring along. Will that one work and still have the history with the slothead?

Meeting in Castle Rock works fine for me. I live down by Arrowhead...C470/Wadsworth area so Castle Rock or Denver....distance is about the same for me.

The makings of a Managé-a-twit, if Stephen attends...

And where along the line did you ge a 1547, Stephen? I missed that news.

Hmmmmm, close to a year ago, I think.

I picked it up from a disgruntled ebay buyer who thought it had been misrepresented and a turd. They were right on both counts.

Sent it back to the mothership and had them perform their magic but the repair cost plus a new case (the old one was in pieces) set me back over $700.)

However, it came back like new, gorgeous and plays like butter......so one of the rarest of the rares at a not too cheap final price but worth every penny. It is a keeper all the way!

OK...

Well.. we make it Castle Rock(or thereabouts)... 6:30 - or up in Denver at closer to 7:30. Place your vote. :) (I'd still rather do Denver, but it really doesn't matter if the time doesn't work out for one of you)

If you two would like Castle Rock...

There is a coffee place on Perry that we might be able to start out at... but not sure what time they close.

Otherwise, my restaurant of choice down here is Village Inn (nice people work there)... but not suitable for guitars.

If the weather is nice - there is outdoor seating out at Granelli's pizza on the main drag - Wilcox - and their pizza is pretty tasty.

Elgin - I hope you make it back from Heathrow in time.

:)

If I get a choice - let's say Denver closer to 7:30 - the reality is some of my best playing ever occurs sitting on the bumpers of cars - but if we start that late - the Karmann Ghia stays in the garage...give us an address Sally - 28 and I have been saying we'd meet since last July - maybe it might happen...as of right now Tuesday night is still fine. Shall I bring SH #43?

Denver works, car bumpers work, my Olds convertable might work, my hand won't work but I'm working on it.

SH #43 and 1547 for sure....what's Sally bringin to the party?

Hey ProfessorBB....can you make a Tuesday night (The 9th) get together?

I spent almost that long in the airport in Manchester one time, waiting for them to fix the plane. Last time I read a whole book in one sitting. Watched a lot of soccer, too, althought they thought it was football and they talked funny so I couldn't understand them.

Hey... I'm here.

The last few days have been a bit challenging - I was babysitting the 10 month old grandbabe on Friday when she got terribly sick with some stomach bug so she (and I) had to spend the day in the ER with her on an IV to keep her from dehydrating into dust.

It caught up with me yesterday - she was kind enough to share whatever it was with me - I spent the day on the couch. Anyway... I'm firing away on all 8 cylinders again today.

So... we decided on Denver, right? 7:30 right? That puts us up at Pablo's coffee on 6th & Washington and we can grab dinner at Angelos if you guys would like.

Is it still just the three of us? Anybody track down Prof. ?

I'm back in town! Tuesday evenings just don't work for me as I'm in rehearsal from 7:00 until 10:00 (for another two weeks). If we meet downtown after ten, we could all meet at my house. I have almost enough for everybody, and I live within one mile of Angelo's.

Well.....

If we weren't getting together before 7:30 anyway...

We could push getting together for pizza back to 8:30 and meander over to Prof's house by 10.

That would work - unless one of you turns into a pumpkin by 10.

Whattaya think?

I know where BB lives.....we can always sit on his porch and play while we wait for him :D

I will have to check it out with SWMBO but I could probably swing it for a bit.

Guess that throws it to EA.

The other option would be to move it to Weds since I know the Professor is free on that day.

Interesting. In another thread they're talking about a bunch of OFC'rs working together to produce a CD of original material via long distance, and here we've watched just 4 members (well, started out as 3) spend 7 days just trying to figure out when and where to get together, and they all live in the same town.

I gotta go make some popcorn.

Denver gang: If Wednesday is a go, then e-mail me and I'll give directions. Anytime after 6:30 pm works to get together, and we'll need to turn down the amps after 9:00 p.m. when Mrs. Professor arrives back from her own performing gig. Hey, we could meet at Angelo's or Pablo's or Bros. BBQ for supper first, say about 5:30 p.m., then mosy over to the studio afterwards.

Okey dokey....

We are on for 6:30 at Angelo's on Wednesday (tomorrow)- then mosey over to Prof's place? Right?

And Waskel... be nice, now. While we are all around the Denver area... it's still a little bit of a trot. While going from the far north suburbs to the far south suburbs might only be 40 miles... it can turn into a REALLY SUCKY two hour drive through Denver (unless you travel after about 8 p.m.)

I think we did good if we got 4 of us together within a week. :)

Now who's gotta be picked up from the airport?!?!?

:)

I'll bring the first official commemorative guitar picks for everybody. :)

Sally - still stirrin'

No one cares where Schroeder is. Sally, as far as I know, the Portland group has never had a gittogether. The Boise group does it all the time. I'm all by my lonesome here, although I did meet tdeej, another Idaho member. We're only 300 miles apart.

I'm in - 6:30 at Angelos I'll play it by ear from there...every pun intended. I cannot go very late...GCD and Em are my limits. I've never been to Angelos - where should I park?

We have to quit by 9:00 p.m. at which time everything turns back into a giant pumpkin. I have plenty of electrics and amps, but if we intend to play primarily acoustics (albeit plugged in), somebody will have to bring their own equipment. Stephen, can you bring the 1581 and a couple of your good vocal mics? Mine aren't all that good. I have two mic stands.

Elginacres: You can park behind Angelo's and Pablo's off Washington, on the street (6th Ave) in front of the place if you can find a spot, or even in the Brother's BBQ lot on the other side of Washington if you have to.

I've got a family situation that I have to handle tomorrow before I can even think of taking a break to even breathe... I may have to be on the other end of town all day - so could we all exchange cell phone numbers privately in case I have to play tag with any of you tomorrow?

Life has been terribly complicated lately - I really could use a fun break like this - but I have to slay one dragon (or maybe two) before I can get down there tomorrow.

This has been the most entertaining thread for years.

And what does Mark mean - "nobody cares where schroeder is?" Jeff cares - I've still got his ute and I owe him money. Swmbo cares - she likes to know where I am and what I'm doing at all times, and I owe her money. I could go on.

Sounds to me like they care about where the guitar and money are, not where you are. If it weren't for our ability to make a living, no matter how feeble, who would care about any of us?
OK, I take that back, my daughter seems to care about her boyfriend despite his inability to even look in the direction of a job.

Professor, my mics are all condenser recording mics....so probably not the best choice.

Sounds more like a get to know each other acoustic play along sing a song get together anyway.

I REALLY want to see and play that plastic SH guitar that EA has! It will be frustrating being able to only use the right hand but what the hell.....the chance to handle an original will be worth the frustration.

I will try to bring the 1581 and the 1547.

This one is when the get together was in full swing and a few unannounced OFC members dropped by.
They asked that we not mention any names but I think the picture speaks for itself.

Elgin is on the left, I am in the middle with Sally above me,
and the Professor is snugglin up to Sally.

What's with the bruises around my neck? Did I get dragged into this hottub against my will? Drug of some sort? Hmmmmm?????

"Professor BB"... America's oldest Top-Shelf Brand Whiskey that makes you smarter!

Aged in oak casks hidden in caverns under Holden Chapel in Harvard Yard...

During the renovation of the roughly 255-year-old Holden Chapel, construction crews stumbled across an entrance to an extensive series of caverns under Harvard University. It is believed that for over three centuries, this Spirit has been produced secretly under the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.

Look at the previous hot tub picture. That's just skin irritation (razor burn) from where the Professor's beard was. It looks worse than it really is. Once you get used to the hot water, the irritation will subside.
