Hi All,
Greetings from downunder, Brisbane Australia.
I was hoping someone could help me identify what model Ovation I have, I recently got Secondhand. Using Ovations serial# Excel spreadsheet, It is a '97.With a six digit serial# 5215XX
Here is a photo of it.

I think it may be an Elite, but am not sure. I has the op24+ preamp in it.
Also is it an American guitar?
cheers

Your pic is not available.
Does it have multiple sound holes or traditional center sound hole?

Can't see the pic. Elites all have five piece necks, which you can easily see except for the black ones and the fret board is tapered sharply. Should say made in USA if it was. Celebrities say made in Korea, have a one piece neck and the high end of the fretboard isn't tapered as much. Look at a few pictures on the Ovation site and you'll figure it out.

Hi guys and thanks,
Maybe if you paste this in your browser you'll be able to view the pic.

Acouple of othr things it has the round back acces plate which comes opff, it has Ping tuners, lok original I thought Ping made golf clubs albeit good ones. The neck is definately one piece plus fingerboard. The top binding is 5 ply wbwbw.
it is also beautifully figured spruce? really has need 3 D to it. As for the inside there is only the serial # nothing else, strange.

If it sounds good, there's nothing wrong with that.

Here's how I got started on this slippery slope, Pasho. Playing around on ebay and bought a CS247 thinking it was and Elite. Actually had a great sound. Then saw the 99 Collector's on ebay, but local. Traded the Celeb and some cash for it. Then the Classic, etc. etc. This may be the start of something good.

Mark,
Thanks for the encouraging words, yeah I'm amazed how good the sound is, if this is a low end Ovation I dread to think how good the American ones sound.(or cost  )
I have played quite a few acoustis and love the sound of this one, and volume of this one.

Ex???

What, in your experience of me, would lead you to believe anyone would have had the bad sense to marry me in the first place?

You're right. Must have been thinking of someone else. I can't think of anyone dumb enough to want to marry a guy who lives in a log cabin and spends all his time playing or talking about guitars. My wife and I and the Country Artist have to go up to the cabin now.
