Location: SE Michigan | Well, after a 10-hour drive and many hardships Slipkid and I finally made it home. There was the cute blond Canadian custom’s agent with her probing questions, the near hurricane force wind and rain, $3.00 gas prices driving a SUV, and the Niagara Falls incident. Not to mention driving almost 700 miles with Brad.
But we all had an excellent time at the OFC tour. I haven’t played that much guitar in three days in many years, I’m going to have some awesome calluses, I’ll have to keep up the playing.
I want to say thanks again to Frank and Rick at the Factory for being such great hosts, and thanks to Al (alpep) as well for all of your hard work. We also greatly appreciated the workshops by John (Strummin12) and Paul Templeman. It was also the first time we met Matt Smith and he really inspired us, he was a wealth of knowledge and one of the friendliest persons I have ever met.
And I cannot forget to thank Ed and Karen for hosting the barbeque on Saturday; we really enjoyed all of your hospitality. Ed has one of the largest guitar collections that I have seen, and many of them got a pretty good workout that evening.
It was also great to get to see all you guys and get to talk to you a bit and hear some of your guitar playing. I really enjoyed the lobby jams.
I’ll post more later; but I wanted to say thanks right away and also post some pictures:

Location: closely held secret | Great pictures, Brian! Really captures the feel of Thursday and Friday night in the looby.
To all who took photos this year - I plan to include a 'Photo Gallery" on the DVD this time. If you have digital copies of yours and are willing to share them, please put them on a cd and send them to me.
I'll pay extra if they result in any convictions. |

I'm sure you will be glad to know that when I have my photos ready to go I will probably use the US Postal service. My package will not involve any GPS device :D :p . Therefore you will not hear that famous female voice say,
"LOST SATELITE RECEPTION,OFF ROUTE,RECALCULATING   :( " |

Location: Carle Place, NY | For those who couldn't make it this year, here's another incentive to make it a priority for next year. Imagine a wall with a bunch of original Ovation prototypes from the first Balladeer to the Adamas, some vintage slothead Adamas from Charlie's personal collection, a couple of new #47 RI's so you can compare the old with the new, and then being able to take any one and play it to your heart's content.

The guitars - no battery and some needed strings changed. No finish cracks but the Protos had some unfinished issues. |

So the llama wasn't present, or it just hid-out in Cliff's room? |

I think you need to keep the receipts for all the film/processing/mailing and get reimbursed right off the top from the DVD proceeds . . . . |

I feel that the pictures and video are my contibution to help support the club. I look at it this way. Many people who attended had to come a long way at their own expense to come to the tour. For me it was about a one hundred mile drive and the cost of the two nights stay at the hotel. Coming to the tour/hotel jam is like coming to a free live up close and personal concert given by friends. That in itself is priceless. People coming together with a common interest in guitars and music is great. I also feel that everyone who played/sang songs contributed in their own way. You also cannot not put a price on that. |

Your time and effort are contribution enough.
Doing this whole thing on film, while it LOOKS really nice, is a bit of an overkill as this stuff is just gonna be viewed on computers & passed around on the Internet, . . . and is EXPENSIVE!
Frets I thru III need t'go to college, and I'll be damned if we're gonna let you squander their tuition on tastless pictures of men in hula skirts!
Besides, we outnumber you, and if you don't allow us to reimburse you, we won't allow you to take pictures next year . . . .

I'm in one pic, on the phone calling a son in MN wishing he could be in my spot. (About 1:00 am)
He was at a friends Jamming with an Adamas and getting rave reviews.
This phone call, to this son, was very special. We havent been close for years. The "mojo" of the moment was working and you caught it on film.
Thanks.

I still wear mine at least once a week in the summer months . It is nice to know that there are at least two of us out there that wont give up our twenty year old tee-shirts ? Good Luck to you .
