Location: Pacific Northwest, USA | Hi, I have a '75 Deluxe Balladeer that I'd like to sell. I did some searching thru the forums here, but didn't find much advice on how to ship a guitar. How do you folks do it? Do I need to get a big box? The hard case is cracked in one spot on the bottom but otherwise still does its job of protecting the guitar. And how do I figure out how much shipping costs will be? I assume I'll need to add insurance too.
thx in advance :) |

Location: Pacific Northwest, USA | Super! thx for the link - if I'd been thinking I would have searched ebay too. Cost should be easy to figure out once I get it on a scale. |

I had to pay more that what I calculated by weight because the box was a little too long. Glad to finally hear from such an old timer. |

If your lucky, you'll also be able to snag some backing material. Put a layer of hard foam or cardboard on the bottom. Put in packing peanuts. Top off with more card board or hard foam. Send by UPS with insurance. Don't worry. |

Why going east on us? I'm just in the process of moving to Olympia, though goodness knows why. |

Red,
Why going east on us? I'm just in the process of moving to Olympia, though goodness knows why. I've lived 36 out of 42 years in Seattle - and dang it, the grey dampness just depresses me more and more. :( Plus the Seattle area has gotten too built up, too much traffic, and too expensive for my tastes.
So I'm headed to Spokane - close enough to come visit friends & family here in Seattle, but nice sized city, cheaper cost of living, and real winters.
Olympia is a cool place, I think. |
