Location: Carle Place, NY | Hi All:
Here's something that you can do to make some veterans really happy.
This coming June 10th (Sat) starting at 11:00 am and going untill about 2-3:00, I'll be playing at the Veterans Hospital in St. Albans, Queens. The hospital is located on Linden Blvd, midway between the Van Wyck and Cross Island Expressways. It's marked on the AAA map of Metro NYC.
The event is a picnic hosted by several local Elks lodges. There will be hot dogs, burgers, etc. I'll have a PA, acoustic and electric amps and mics set up, so all you need to bring is your favorite guitar and some enthusiam. The vets at the hospital are a small but very appreciative group.
Please send me an email if you think you can make it. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Sounds like a good gig, Mitch. Even though I have some performance phobia, I would do that sort of gig if it was here. |

I was asked to take photos for Mitch's Elks club.
I met some very nice people and heard some old war stories. |

Location: Indiana | I appreciate you guys doing stuff like this. All they way until my dad's death last dec., he was our state Amvets liaison officer at our VA hospital here. Basically he was like a vet social worker. My sis gave them 20 yrs only to have the system chew her up...but she loved the vets. I am glad the event went well...
peace,

Location: Carle Place, NY | It was a great afternoon. Thank you Gil and Phil. The Vets were a small but appreciative group. The 30 year old PA held up and produced some pretty decent sound.
Phil's photos are in the process of being developed. I'll post some in a couple of days.
Gil is really too modest about his talents. He performed with us even though we had never before played together. He then did some great solo on a bunch of Jim Croce songs and did an excellent rendition of Don McLean's Vincent. Thanks Gil! |

Location: Hicksville, NY | I feel honored for the compliment ... thanks Mitch. That's probably the nicest thing that I've heard in a while, considering that I never thought of myself as one having such talents.
When I got back to playing, I never thought of performing, until a group of very appreciative audience found me (I guess). What started out as a sing-along with the children in the classroom, branched out to seniors residing in nursing homes, as well as, facilities and agencies for individuals with developmental disabilities. Since then, I became more than willing to take the embarrassment, in an effort to make the quality of life of the above-mentioned individuals for the better. Last Saturday, our beloved veterans were added to the list. Thanks once again ...
