Location: CT | Have any of you ever played one of these? I didn't know Ovation made one, I guess they can do whatever they feel like. I imagine production numbers were low. I'd always wanted to learn mandolin, but my big fat fingers could never squeeze into that neck. I wonder what it sounds like.

If the mandocello is in the condition he states, that BIN is an excellent price. |

Mandocello's are cool.
I'm always tempted whenever one comes up on ebay. I'll have to pass on this one. Just bought a Country Artist 1624. That will do it for a while. The BIN is a good price grab it while you can. |

Location: Denver Colorado | I just read the description on that thing - it says it's bigger than a guitar. Is that true? I thought they were smaller. |

I'd love to hear one... they gotta be cool.

Location: CT | I can't imagine them making a special bowl mold for such a limited run, custom order only instrument. If it's bigger than a guitar, did they use a shallow bowl bass mold? Is it about that size? |

It is the same size as a regular guitar with a shallow bowl. |

Location: CT | Thanks for the info. I sure would like to buy it, but would only get a few hours in before my wife came down and beat me with a mallot for buying a guitar when we need 'more important' things. Some people think food and clothes and working automobiles are more important than guitars. Go figure. |
