While shopping for an 1866, I've see examples with the 6 saddle bridge and a couple with the one-piece saddle. One of the one-piece had Op-24+ preamp and the other has the newer Op-40 style preamp. Anyone know why?

That's what I was thinking, but I couldn't remember having seen a Legend with a thinline. Must be out there, though.

Cliff,...speaking of saddles, I have a '92 1767/op24. Can the individual saddles be replaced without changing out the entire bridge assembly?

The saddle assembly IS one piece that pops outta the bridge - they're not 6 individual saddles . . .

Thanks Cliff, I didn't know that, never removed one before. So, the entire assembly will slide out sideways, or pop-out upwards?

It's in a little tray. Pull it straight up or push gently up on the wire from the inside.

Only a few USA guitars have had a Thinline pickup and The Legend wasn't one of them. If it's not an OPP high-output then it's a Tru-Balance. This pickup is thicker than the thinline, but thinner than the OPP. It's been discontinued now, and I could never figure out any logic as to which models got the OPP and which got the Tru-Balance. I've had a couple of guitars with the Tru-Balance and it's a good sounding pickup.
