When Ovation finished this run of guitars, they had a bunch of small bowls left over. Those bowls were made into at least one, maybe two, lesser quality parlor-sized guitars. These were Celebrity-level guitars if I remember correctly.
So I have to believe they didn't use the top-of-the-line TKL case that was provided with the '97 Collectors'. Does anyone know for sure if any different cases exist for this guitar? My '97 would make a great travel guitar (in safe places only) if it had a smaller, LIGHTER case/gig bag. Any answers from the experts?

Levys makes very sturdy gig bags for the Taylor Baby. Here\'s one on eBay for $23 with shipping.

The dimensions of the Baby Taylor are:
Body width-12 1/2"
Body depth-3 3/8"
Body length- 15 3/4"
Overall length-33 3/4"

Check the measurements of your '97. It might be a good fit.

There's also the Big Baby Gig Bag

Big Baby measurements are:
Width-15"
Depth-4"
Body length- 19 1/2"
Overall length- 40 1/4"

I happen to have both a Baby and my '97 on my kitchen table at the moment...not even close. I've had lots of alternate suggestions in the past and I firmly believe there is no case out there that fits this guitar except one that was made specifically for it.

I know this is the obvious, but just in case; have you talked to the folks at Ovation to see if they have one?

The guitar they made with the left over bowls was the 5741. It is a parlor size body with a regular 14 fret standard peghead neck, with an OP-24E pre-amp. They used the same case without the '97 collectors plate. I saw one and was told this by the factory.

Well, I'll consider that the definitive statement. I sent Master Templeman a private email asking him if it would fit. I really like that gig bag. Thanks for the feedback everyone. John <>{
