How much do prices differ between the US and UK?. I mean I'd expect to pay a lttle more for a US built item but an import from Korea shouldn't be any more/less expensive.

Here in UK shops you'd pay maybe 200 pounds for an applause. 400 for a celebrity and 500 for a celeb-delux. 1000+ for an elite. Online you'd pay maybe 25% less.
US/UK exchange rate is currently around $1.85 so in USD the elite Might cost us $1850

Of course I can browse online and see US online prices but how do the shop prices compare?

U.S. shop prices tend to run about 1:1 pounds to dollars as you stated on the given models. Shop prices tend to be a bit higher than online but not that much, usually not 25%. Depends on the seller.

You'd think so, but there are a huge amount a variables. The US has something like 45% of the world market share for musical instruments whereas the UK is something like 5%. That in itself is a huge influence on why some products are way cheaper in the US regardless of their county of origin. Then you take into account variations in economies, exchange rates, stock holding and warehousing, advertising, service and warranty issues, VAT, import duty, freight, employee salary levels etc etc and it starts to explain why US products are more expensive outside of the US. That and the fact that everything in the UK is a friggin' rip-off. Jesus, it's 10 bucks for a gallon of gas.

When a card-carrying atheist uses the term "Jesus" as an expletive, . . . you KNOW he's trying t'prove a point . . . .

Hi Ax

They're all right... when I ordered my EA viper, it was massively cheaper to order if from a US dealer, and pay the import duty than order it here on the Island/anywhere else in UK. Even after customs, banker's draft charges and forex rate shading, it was only about 60% of the price I would have paid.

However, if you're looking for a stunning deal, check out this thread: http://www.ovationfanclub.com/cgi-bin/ubb/non-cgi/ultimatebb.php?ub... . I was passing by the other day and the two guitars are still there.

How was that for shameless advertising? I should be on commission...
